mneآ·monآ·ic adj. Relating to, assisting, or intended to assist the memory.n. A device, such as a formula or rhyme, used as an aid in remembering. If you run a search on your favorite engine for "mnemonic" and "anatomy" or whatever subject matter you're studying, I'm sure you'll find some applicable mnemonics. The ones that come to mind at the moment are "Randy Travis Drinks Cold Beer" for the brachial plexus (roots, trunks, divisions, cords, branches); "On Old Olympus Towering Tops, A Finn And German Viewed Some Hops" for the cranial nerves ... for remembering the weight of water: "A pint's a pound, the world around" A pint of water does indeed weigh a pound. Used that one today when I was reading about the Fomentek bag which holds 2 gallons of water and I was figuring out how much that would weigh to carry down the hall from the sink to the massage room: 8 pints to a gallon, so 16 lbs. "Righty tighty, lefty loosey" is another one. (I know those aren't specifically useful for muscles and bones... but I'm sure they're out there in some study guide somewhere... hope that helps and good luck!)I love the body crayons idea! It would be fun to do with a study buddy too if there's one available.
