Tori Spelling turned her son Beau’s request for an allowance into a win for the both of them.

Rather than have the 7-year-old sweep the floor or wash dishes, the actress, 51, requested that her son give her a massage to earn some cash. “Beau said he wanted to do chores in exchange for an allowance … solid plan,” she captioned an Instagram Story snap on Wednesday, February 12.

In the photo — to which she added the song “9 to 5” by Dolly Parton — Spelling was face down on a bed with her bare back out and a light pink blanket covering her lower half. Beau, for his part, sat on the bed while massaging his mother’s legs.

Spelling shares all five of her children — including Liam, 17, Stella, 16, Hattie, 13, and Finn, 12 — with her estranged husband, Dean McDermott. McDermott, 58, announced that the two had called it quits after more than a decade of marriage in June 2023. Spelling officially filed for divorce from her ex in March 2024.

During a December 2024 episode of her “Misspelling” podcast, Spelling said that staying with McDermott for as long as she did felt like “a disservice to my kids.” She explained, “I always thought as bad as things might be between my partner and myself, it’s better to have their dad in the house than in a different residence. I think that kept me in the relationship far too long.”

Spelling revealed that she and McDermott “were in a place where we might have separated and divorced” before they welcomed Beau in 2017. “But we worked on our relationships, stayed together and I’ll never regret not leaving then,” she shared before noting that things ultimately “didn’t get better between us” after Beau’s birth.

McDermott has since moved on with his girlfriend, Lily Calo. Spelling, meanwhile, has been romantically linked to advertising CEO Ryan Cramer since November 2023. “Tori met Ryan through work, several months ago and she thought he was very charming and handsome,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly at the time.

Since her and McDermott’s split, Spelling has been candid about the struggles of life as a single mom. “I’m constantly letting [my kids] down because my life is not stable,” she stated on her podcast in December 2024. “Their lives are not stable. The love’s there, but they’re on this roller-coaster with me, unfortunately.”

She added, “They’re on this journey with me and I can’t keep things from them. I have children that are old enough that they read things online. They read the false stuff, but they read the semi-accurate stuff and they read the true stuff.”

Despite some motherhood ups and downs, Spelling has felt the love from her kids over the last few months. In addition to supporting their mom during her run on Dancing With the Stars season 33, Spelling’s children spent the holidays with her in Lake Arrowhead, California.
