MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Richmond police have arrested two people in connection to a prostitution investigation at a massage studio.
Officers executed a search warrant Thursday at Fuji Health Studio on South Porter Drive.
Police say they received tips about suspicious activity there back in May.
“I think it started out as massages, but it transpired further into both,” said Major Daniel Deaton with Richmond Police.
Police say the massage business was also offering prostitution.
“Our undercover officers conducted over 250 hours of surveillance and other investigations,” he said.
“So when a client would come in, they would have to push a door buzzer to be let in. All the transactions were cash transactions,” said Deaton. He said “clients” would then be escorted where massages were given, but often other activity took place there.
The investigation led to the arrests of 54-year-old Shizhe Jin and 62-year-old Alicia Young. Three others were cited to court, for promoting prostitution and practicing therapy without a license.
According to court records, Shizhe Jin had recently been charged with human trafficking in Nelson County. He was given a conditional 2-year discharge less than three weeks ago, as long as he did not have any more violations.
Fuji Health Studio is now closed.
