vtct aromatherapy course

Hi,

I am starting my vtct aromatherapy course in two weeks, just wondering if anyone can recommend any good books to buy that cover to the vtct level?I know i have to do quite a few case studies which i believe have to be really detailed, if anyone has any examples of case studies they could share to get an idea of what i will have to do that would be great. Also if anyone knows where's the best place to order my oils from at a reasonable price? as some that i have looked at are so expensive.
Also if anyone just has any general advise they would like to share about what the course and exams are like that would be good too.

Hi,
Try kobashi oils - look for their website in devon. Pleeeease do not buy or use the Sandalwood from anywhere as it only exacerbates the shortages. (wedid a 'knowledge only' for Sandalwood). Of course no one sells Jasmine 'by enfleurage' as it is extracted by solvents these days. So perhaps 'knowledge only' with that one too. Having said that - Kobashi Jasmine is the best in town (solvent extracted).
You may need Neroli which you can get from Essentially Oils.
Regarding books, the only one I would recommend, but very pricey, is by Sylla Shepperd Hanger - Tampa USA (Atlantic Institute of Aromatherapy). But a good second choice is any one by Julia Lawless.
Please beware and it maybe best to check with your college first, that there will be some bridging course to get you to be able to fully join the Aromatherapy Council.

seen several posts from you about Sandalwood - I bought it when I started my course 2 years ago before I became aware of the cost to the enviroment - it is one of my favourite oils and I do use it quite a lot (it would be silly to not use it, the damage has already been done) so am dreading the day it runs out, what could you recommend as an alternative that is available and hasnt been bought up by the cosmetic industry
