VTCT Aromatherapy course

Hi everyone

I'm thinking about taking the above level 3 course at college starting in September. However there is no-one at college that I can speak to about it at the moment. I don't have a formal body massage qualification but have done the level1 and 2 OCN aromatherapy and massage course. Would I have to have a body massage qualification to do the aromatherapy course or not?

I'd appreciate your comments.

Hi Sue

I dont know exactly about that course however aromatherapy massage is slightly different to body massage and so I would assume (although not 100% sure) that you will be ok without a massage qualification.

Hello Sue ,
I have done VTCT swedish and aromatherpay level three course. I had to learn swedish first then go on to do aroma. I was just wondering why you wanted to do this course as uve already done aroma course?

The aroma course I've done didn't qualify me to practice on the public - it was only a night school course for friends and family.

I've finally managed to speak to someone at the college and they will allow me to do the course with out a qual in body massage.

Thats good news. Not sure if youve got any course content details...but You should be learning about 30 essential oils and varies carriers...massage routine,facial routine... contraindications... making lotions and potions and much more.
