Wasp Repellent

Hi everyone

I was wondering if anyone had made up a wasp repellent that has been effective? Seems that all the wasps have decided to come out and annoy me and family anywhere we go and is driving me insane and my 5 year old hysterical. I remember buying one a while back from Jungle Formula called Wasp away but can't seem to find it anymore, and as I have lots of essential oils, figured I'd be best making one - just needing advice on what is the most effective.

i havent made anything, i can only tell you what i have looked up in some of my books, Most insects hate these essential oils: Cajuput, Cedarwood, Geranium, Lavender, Lemongrass, Niaouli, Patchouli, Peppermint, Tea tree, Thyme.
The book says Hang ribbons soaked in essential oils in the area of problem.
hope this one doesnt happen but if you get a wasp sting you treat it with cider or wine vinegar into 1 teaspoon put 2 drops each of lavender, chamomile and dab on the bitten area three times a day.
if i find anything else i will let you know, hope its help you.
if it was me i think i would use tea tree mix with water in a spray bottle and if your out and about iwould take arucksack spray it on that & hope.

Blue cypress oil is the best thing for wasp, it's great with most insects, but is particularly effective for wasps. I've used it on a few different wasp species after trying all the usual insect oils to little effect and blue cypress oil worked brilliantly - that is BLUE cypress oil Callitris intratropica, white cypress, normal cypress, any other form of cypress doesn't keep off the wasps.

I know this is an older post but I didn't want to start a new one & someone say just use the Search engine.
We have wasps around our house & garage. Aggressive ones too w/ long stingers. My husb used the Raid last year w/ success but I'm trying to go more non-toxic. I had read 'bout the blue cypress oil. How do you use it or any other EO? We don't really want a repellent but would like to kill them or at least make the habitat not hospitable for them anymore. I would like to use essential oils for the job but the answers here didn't give any indication on HOW to use them. So any help please?

I have read of this insect repellent (general, not especially fow wasp).
50 ml of Bassilicum vegetable oil
5 drops of Eucalyptus essential oil
5 drops of Lavender essential oil
5 drops of Citronella essential oil
5 drops of Marjoram essential oil
5 drops of Cedar Wood essential oil
It says to apply the blend to your body. Perhaps you could use the same EO in a diffuser to repel wasp out of your place

Thank you! I'll try that. I know some oils that can help repel but not the quantity so this will help a lot.
