What are good base products to use

Hi I am a qualfied aromatherpist and a beautican.has anoyone ever used the base products from your aromatherapy? does anyone know if you can buy a set of all the base products that you need from any company.

I am an aromatherapist too since 1989 and I have found that I dont have the time very much to do lots of my own mixing but I do quite a bit still. I love to use a company called Likisma who have a whole range of organic products and they do all sorts of base products and in nice convienient sizes so you can either decant an amount or use the bottle as it is for your client and then sell the bottle uniquely made for them. Its easy and simple. The way I enjoy things nowadays. You also get a 30% discount on your orders when made for individuals and most of the marketing materials is free except the brochures which are 35pence each (which is nothing really). Hi,

There are lots of company's that supply both essential oils and base oils. Look at the back of any aromatherapy book and you will find several. I can think of the following - Butmassageplanetur and Sage, Essentially Oils, Kobashi, Materia Aromatica, Bay House Aromatics - all of which will supply you with a list of materials stocked and may have internet sites too.

You can also get a trade discount with some of the companies as an aromatherapist.

You'd have to check with your insurance company about this. I believe that you are covered if you are providing it to a client to benefit their treatment.

If you wish to sell on to the public (ie not an existing client that has just received treatment with you) then you may have to get a license. My friend did this and her license lasted a year, she had to list every product that she made with a list of ingredients and wasn't allowed to deviate from what she had submitted. She also had to list on the label every ingredient in the product.

Thats the beauty of some of the companies in the Direct Sales Association like Virgin or Likisma they already have that licience so when you sign in with themyou are included in their liciences.

As a therapist you are covered to use products as part of the treatment but when you come to sell products it is a different issue. If you make a blended mixture for your client then what is left can be GIVEN to your client to use as home treatment but that is the only way it can be done without the need for extra liciences etc. You may then find that your client would like more of the same so that is when you are in a sales environment and that is where you WILL need the extras unless (as I have said before) you are with a DSA company that covers you in that.

It is a matter of choice how you run your therapy treatments but for me it was less hassles and less expence to work with these other companies plus the money back guarantees and delivery service to any one of my clients just makes things so easy now.
