i wouldn't be too concerned. it could be a monthly thing, and unlike some, take four or five days off until they are feeling fresh again.

or, it could be they are taking a breather to recharge themselves and see the sites. i've known a few who take off with their friends for a few week holiday to see typical canadian tourist hot spots from Whistler to Quebec City and every thing in between.

if it were a police issue i'm sure they would have plastered it all over the news so they could be showing what a fine job they were doing saving these poor damsels in distress from a life of being forced sex slaves by triads, crawdads, or what ever other type of ads there are, aka tagging easy targets instead of the hit men they can't seem to find.

There is something between Quebec and the Atlantic ocean ya know, with lots to be seen!! ;-)

That's one little thing I joke about quite a bit since I moved from the east coast to the west coast. Whenever someone says they "know a guy from back east", I always ask where in particular, and they say "Ya know, Ontario!". Dudes, you're living in BC, ALBERTA is east of you.!

Friggin' west coast guys... sheesh.

BTW, I hope you all recognize that this is all in fun, pointing out a little west coast foible.

i know u're just having fun, but have u thought about this; we've lived here our whole lives in westcoast, vancouver, etc; if we say we know someone fr alberta, we say "our next door neighbour" ...but if that friend is from ontario, quebec, etc, then we'll say 'back east'...

hope u shld understand why we say the things that we do, and not being "friggin west coast guys"...guess it'll take awhile for u to pick up, wherever you came from

in all fairness to our eastern brothers though, and our western latitudes/atitudes/platitudes; but a quote from one woman, and in discussion from a few more of what they like to do on their off time.

i've never heard them mention of going farther east than that.

I guess I should have put an extra smiley on the "friggin" comment, my bad. I REALLY didn't want this to be any kind of flame thread. It's a lot easier to make a joke in person than on the web.

And it didn't take long for me to pick up in the least (hence I ask what is meant by "back east" knowing full well it's Ont, just so I can make my little joke). I and sincerly understand why four provinces can slip the minds out here since I've REALLY been enjoying your world famous cash-crop.!!!!

And, joking aside, let me say that although I truely miss the east coast (mmmm... lobster. Thank you loberstman on Granville Island for supplying my fix from time to time) I am really enjoying living out here and having a total ball. The rain can be a bit much in the winter, but hey, you don't have to shovel rain eh?
