...minors in it? niece is dating a registered sex offender, she has a minor child, and he said the charge stems from thinking he privately sent pictures of himself to another adult in a chat room and it actually was seen by everyone. he was charged with indecent liberties with children and since it is a felony i can't get the court transcripts. i don't believe he is telling her the truth
 
There are a couple of resources you can use. There are many sex offender registries on the internet and below is a link to one of them.

Another thing you can do is go to a site that does background checks and pay to have a background check run on him. Since the guy is a registered sex offender I recommend that you spend the money to independently verify what he says.
 
i wouldn't believe him either.. if he's so honest tell him to provide the proof
