Let's say a guy calls a SPA and makes an appointment for later that day. Let's say this SPA has a 1hr pre-appointment confirmation call required confirming your attendance. Now if the guy that made the call wasn't familiar with this rule and the attendant that took the call never mention it... what does the guy do when he drives an hour to the SPA and the lady working the desk tells him he didn't call his appointment was cancelled... and she's now booked. I'm sorry; you'll have to try another time.

Generally they ask you to call and confirm 1 hour prior to the appointment when you book it. If I weren't made aware of this procedure and missed an appointment, I'd be pissed at the time.

If indeed that were the case it's an error on their part and you should, as Daddyio suggests, take it up with management. It may have been better to address the issue at the time, but understandably not everyone, including myself at times is comfortable with such a situation.

Chalk it up as a learning experience.

You gain nothing from complaning except maybe an apology. I really doubt there going to give you a free session to make up for it. Plus if you complain you might get the girl in trouble that you wanted to see, what happens if you go and see her and she remembers you and gives you a bad session.

The experience should most definately be brought to management's attention.
The problem can't get fixed if no one knows about it.
I would hate to be the person it happened to, just to know that would make me want to do something to ensure it didn't happen to anyone else.
The manager if they want to be successful should take the complaint seriously. If not teh word will quickly spread (it always does) and they will soon find themselves re-thinking their policies.
As for the girl - It would depend on how she handle d the situation. If she was genuinely sorry fro the mixup then maybe I would choose to see here again and not mention her name to the manager. If she was lets just say not nice about then who the hell cares. She doen't deserve my business or anyone elses.

It would be disturbing for sure. Most of us know about the one hour confirmation call rule and anytime I've called since the rule has been in place I've been asked to call and confirm which I always do. It's possible it was one of the new girls in which case it would be wise to advise management so they can reconfirm with them that when taking calls they must mention this policy.

Chalk it up to experience and move on. Now you know.

you can try telling mgmt so they can talk to the mpa's regarding telephone protocols again....but i think they already know since the owner use to post on this board but now lurks...

..this situation probably happens alot more then we hear about it.....it's the nature of the biz....there are a lot of no shows....some places don't even take appointments...first come first serve.....worse some mp's take your appointment...but if someone happens to want the mpa before you show up...you get the big shaft

You should always speak up when you get service that is subpar. Maybe it is extreme to expect a response or reimbursement, but at least management can be aware of the problem.

The male partner of said unmentionable establishment is sincere (in my experience) about righting past wrongs, so if you can give a creditable argument with specific details (times, names) you stand a good chance of a token gesture.

Keep in mind, this wouldnt be the first time that a customer simply did not call to confirm yet proceeded to the spa under the assumption that "they would never actually cancel me".
