Which oil or oils would you use

My Mum is trying to sell her house in order to buy the house next door to me. She has done quite a bit to spruce it up but has not even had an offer. This weekend she is painting the lounge diner because to be honest it does need it.

What oils would you use to have in the burner to make the house smell nice and to hind the smell of paint

It depends if people have allergies, asthma. Some people wont like a strong aroma and may be put off by it, you dont want to overwhelm them before they look round the house.
Coffee on the boil is meant to work well and help sales,perhaps a coffee scent or a scented candle? simmer a pot on the stove with some cinnamon in it.Bake something in the oven.
I dont know about feng shui to comment but I am sure someone will be able to give more details on this. There are certain scents that are more appealing to men than women according to google.

It's said that a sliced onion on a saucer is the best way to get rid of the smell of paint ... to be followed by a nicer smell afterwards, of course!

Freshly ground coffee - seems to refresh the olfactory nerves. Some of these paints smell really potent. I am sure there are some eco paints around that are not so harmful.

I would try essential oils such as bergamot, lemon, pine. Lots of fresh air to air the rooms and get rid of paint smells too. I quite like the smell of some paint, its the oil based paints that I don't like and as for white spirit - yuk.

apparently coffee and bread are old hat now and essential oils are the "thing"

like all of your suggestions, couldnt remember the one about the onion for paint - will try that and of course all the windows will be left open - even if it is raining
