Why can't my sister and I see each other in chat even thought we're both online...

...and both signed into chat? and how can i fix this?
we are not using the same computer; we are different states.
more details? hmm let me see. I noticed my sister was online when I looked at her profile and noticed she'd had recent activity (within the last 5 minutes). For some reason though, she did not show up on my chat or any of my other relatives chat. She constantly asks us to get on chat, and we are both signed in. We are not "off line." I have seen her several times online my iTouch's facebook chat, but everytime i see her there, i get something to the effect of "unable to deliever the messege." what further details would you like?

probably go to ur settings or if ur both using the same computer its cause of that

you may have accidentally hit the go offline button in which case you wouldn't see her name and she wouldn't see yours. there's categories like middle school friends, high school friends, college and other friends in which you may have done this. next to each category is a shape that sort of looks like a sideways oval. when you are marked as being online it will look half green/half white. if one of them is half white and half gray you are marked as being offline. click on it so that it turns green and that should fix the problem.
