Yay new website version!

I've had the same overly-basic website for my first two YEARS of practice. And I've been working on version 2.0 for months, but I really seriously needed something in between.

So here's presenting v1.5! Very quick and simple layout, the entire thing is designed to present some extra information and be easy on me. v2.0 has all the bells & whistles planned

Any suggestions are welcome! I particularly didn't know what to do on the front page text differently.

Any other FAQs that you think should definitely be on there?

It's looking so much fuller! Your services listings and FAQs are also a lot more interesting than most similarly-named pages on standard MT websites. Your personality and intent are really coming through, with a firm underlying base of usable information. The clear, informative writing is even more important than bells and whistles, in my opinion - wouldn't you know that that's the part I have to put the most work into on my own site - but the B&Ws you do have make me want to read the whole site. Effort paying off.

Yes, content is king. Of course there's a whole design-as-content approach that is waiting in the wings.

But one thing at a time. Process, blah. Who needs it? Can't we just conceive of our creations in their final form and manifest them instantly. ;-)

I like it very much.
I would use a different first quote though, It takes the reader away from you to another person's work.

Thanks for that detail. I switched the first two around. I was a little unsure about leaving that whole sentence in there, but that's what the client said to me. I admit, I enjoyed being "better" than the hallucination ;-)

Best hallucination I had was during a shiatsu session... a vibrant sunset... felt very different from my normal mind's eye visualization.

I was going to ask how you manage to keep an actual clinic option open in SF considering the cost of living there, but since you charge $100 an hour I can see how!

Yes... I started at $75, and a client talked me into raising it after a year. After some cost of living calculations on fees in other areas, I quickly got over any sense of guilt.

On the other hand, I now have a home office, which is making things easier. I may be able to quit some of my other jobs soon.

I'm having photos taken tomorrow, so I'll have some pics of the space to share

I don't see a way to get back to the "home" page without going up to my address bar and deleting whatever is beyond the / other than that, though, I really like your site. I agree that the FAQs are great and I love that you are creating a practice from your heart. In my experience it all comes together so fast that way.


ETA: You know what I just figured it out, you click on your name.....okay sometimes I need a few more minutes than the rest of the kids.


.......also, I just tried your links and the 'Absolute...' link is incomplete. I think it is missing the .com all the others worked.

Normally the logo in the upper left links back to the homepage... and I'm hearing that my text version doesn't read as a logo. I'll work on that one.

I got the barter idea from another site. He had a list of things he was currently looking for, too. I didn't think that was appropriate for the FAQ section. I'll make that its own page at some point and link it from the FAQ.

Great website. Visually pleasing, easy to navigate, and very personalized to your healing philosophy. My only suggestion is to add your phone number to the contact page. Sometimes people visit a website and then want to refer someone else to you, who may not use the internet. A phone number would be easy for them to write down and pass on.
