IRON MOUNTAIN — Bay College West Campus announces the launch of its Massage Therapy Training Program starting Aug. 15 in Iron Mountain.
The West campus is working closely with Jenny DeDecker of Full Moon Rising Wellness Studio in Norway and has been approved as an Assigned School through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. The 625-hour, non-credit massage program will run through June 23, 2023 and prepares students for the nationally recognized Massage and Bodywork Licensure Examination.
Bay College requires all applicants to be at least 18 years of age, pass a background check, hold a high school diploma or equivalent and be physically capable of giving and receiving massages.
Interested individuals are encouraged to apply early due to a maximum capacity of 12 students. A $50 application fee will reserve a seat, but registration and the full payment of $8,999 is due by July 13. Financial aid is not applicable for this program; however, funding opportunities may be available through Michigan Works, local banks and credit unions.
A release from Bay College states: “Massage Therapy is in high demand with great income potential, flexible hours, a variety of potential work settings, opportunities for growth, and work that allows you to improve physical and mental well-being of others.”
Bay College’s main campus also will be offering a massage therapy training program with more information and dates to be announced in the upcoming weeks. For more information or to apply for this training, visit mytraining.baycollege.edu.
