Alright, it's been a while I have venture out of my preferred therapist list but I figured it was time to take one for the team and report back on this lady.
I was going to write a very long review with all my personal opinion etc.. but I decided to keep it fairly shot and only reports the fact and you can make up your mind if this would be a good massage service for you. I will still have to give my opinion on a few things in order to review properly. Sorry this review will still be very long.....
We texted for a while and she said, and I quote; "I'm a license and professional massage therapist". So I asked if she will be giving me a receipt for insurance claim and she started to explain to me something about someone that used to work for her sent the wrong paperwork to an insurance company and now they are investigating etc etc.... So basically, the answer is no, she cannot give receipt.
- Texting and booking an appointment with her was easy. Responded fast and found a time that works for both of us.
- Regular massage is $78 and undraped is $90
- Place is easy to find. Single family house and no parking on the street since all the driveways are almost touching each others so I park in the driveway of the house.
- Massage room is very close to the main entrance. Just to the right of the basement stair on the way in.
- Massage room is small and is the same as shown in her add. Massage bed is touch the wall at your feet so she cannot go around the table at your feet.
- Room was cold. I know it's very cold out right now but that's why all massage therapist should have a space heater in their rooms.
- She put relaxing music on that was loud enough that you can just listen to the music and not hear much else.
- Massage started with her fingers just grazing my body all over. She said that was only the warm up and after she will apply pressure. Well this "warm up" lasted over 20 mins! Total wast of massage time and absolutely worthless.
- After she finally stopped just running her fingers on me, she put on latex gloves on and poured cold oil directly on my body. Not even pour it in her hands first to warm it up.
- Now this is only my opinion but I have received LOTS of massages in my life so far and never I had a massage therapist wear latex glove before. Let me say that the feeling of latex glove on your body with the sound of loose glove on her hand rubbing me was by far the most uncomfortable feeling. Even the fairly loud relaxing music wasn't enough to drown the glove sound on my body.
- Her massage skills are not much to talk about. If I would to rate her, I would put her massage skills at 4 or 5 our of 10 at best! I might have too high of expectations due to seeing very good ladies in town such as Sunny, Anna, Sara and even the "Attractive" lady in Sherwood Park that all offers a good therapeutic massage and maybe this is why I have a hard time being satisfied with mediocrity but this lady has not sort of routine and just basically rub and grab whatever she can at any giving point going from should to legs and back to the back and just goes all over the place with no really any value in her massage skills at all. She did apply enough pressure to actually do good but since she has no skills, doesn't provide any sort of therapeutic benefits at all.
- After she finished the short "rub" of my body, she rub me down with hand paper towel that you would find in a 7 Eleven bathroom. I am not joking guys! Yep, rough as hell paper towel rubbing of the oil with latex gloves.... Now that is very relaxing!!!
- after the flip, the massage is almost non existent either... a bit of leg rub and it's done so not even worth flipping over.
- I arrive 5 minutes early so we did start the massage pretty much exactly on time. After the massage was done, I was dressed, I pay and got the heck out of there and after I was in my vehicle and driving out that I look at the clock and it was still in the hour I was supposed to have paid for so my massage was overall probably about 45 mins at best and out of that, 20 minutes or more was a light finger rubbing....
Do I recommend this lady? Absolutely not. I will not repeat. The sad part about this is she really believe she is very good and we should all be thankful she offers her services and is a better deal than other massage places in town. She is very out of touch with the real world out there....
If anyone has any additional questions, I will be glad to give you more of my opinions and added details on this experience in PM to any contributors of this forum.
