You started out saying "I asked Jodi to maybe lower her rate a bit as I'd like to see her."

That has nothing to do with increasing her business. I don't recall Jodi mentioning that she didn't have enough business. If she said "business is really slow, what can I do" then advising her to lower her rates would make sense. But you just want to get it cheap. That's to benefit you not her.

I find Jodi's rates to be extremely competitive for the market. If it ever happens that she is getting less business then she needs, then perhaps she'll consider lowering her rates. But otherwise "Wah, I am cheap but still want to see you" is rarely an effective argument.

he didn't attack jodi and say he didn't like her service and only mentioned that she "maybe" lower her rates so that he could see her more often. which is what jodi was asking a few posts back - for feedback on what people think about her rates.

on a whole this board is getting very testy...people here need to calm down a bit and remember we're all here to chat, share stories, educate each other, write reviews and most of all have fun.

I actually do own a business and if I ask someone $100 for the item and they tell me they can get one just like for $85 and if I bought it for $50.00 I still make money. Yes? It is all about supply and demand my friend. Demand is down for people in Jodi's business, Supply might even be up? Jersey has so many massage places that they are all quiet. The ones that charge $200 are almost all gone. That is why the asians have taken over. All I suggested was a bit of a lowering of her rates, in private mind you and she opened it up to the board. Please don't get upset with me, tell me I am cheap, tell me to go somewhere else, I just asked our Jodi if she would consider a bit of a rate reduction. I asked two of my regulars and they both said yes, you know why....a steady customer. If Jodi wants a bit more steady customers a slightly lower rate would help. Not so low to get weirdos. Listen everyone. Jodi and others are hurting because of the economy...how many people might go if it was either $25.00 less or 15 minutes more. Bring it on.

What does you coming from NJ have anything to do with Jodi's prices? Bottomline is that if you want to see a specific provider, 9.5 times out of 10, her rates are HER rates. If you don't like it there are PLENTY of other places to go. Especially in the NNJ/NYC area. Would you let someone walk into your place of business and let them negotiate rates on specific things you have structured payment scales for? I didn't think so..Shes charging those prices because she can get them. I swear to god where did all the common sense go in this world?

Anyway, my advice is charge what you feel is fair for your service. If I was rich and if the economy was great I wouldn't care about the extra few dollars, but it does hurt to spend money on a massage and yes I am addicted to a wonderful massage so I do it. I guess if the price was bit lower as it is with my regulars I go more often, So I always ask myself, $100 for 45 with a great woman who makes me happy or $180 for the same thing...I guess what I am saying is competition and service dictate price. I went to see Jodi for the first time yesterday. There's nothing I can say that hasn't been said here already. Her studio was discrete and had a pleasant scent. Her appearance and personality was as everyone here had described. She was friendly which put me at ease. She had long beautiful blond hair and soft large natural breasts. I asked for a firm massage and it was professionally delivered. I described the injuries I've had and she took care to make sure I was comfortable. I have paid much more for massages that wasn't even half as good as Jodi's. She had great techniques which hit all my sore and tight spots. We chatted as she worked over my body. I agree with DeepThought too: you provide a higher quality service and you should set a price and market yourself accordingly. I would recommend against a 'happy-ending' only offer... in fact, you might want to consider a 'massage-only' offer. Massage runs from $1/min to $4/min in Manhattan including tips, with the lower end for independents and the higher end for spas. I would definitely be willing to pay you $160/hr for the massage you give now without the ending; that's high for an independent because you're really good, plus a bonus for the sensual atmosphere.

Of course, as long as you continue to offer it, I'll keep paying extra for the ending too. Come to think of it, I think I need to schedule a 90-minute session with you; I promised you some extra business the last time I saw you but didn't deliver.

I am with Deep thought. Market yourself to a more refined client base and post an ad where those customers would be looking.

You might try the massage section of Eros. I know massage places might be a fit but I am not sure of cost or the demographic they are pulling.

I agree with that. There are guys that will always try and haggle. claim they are light in green and really have tons of cash in the bank. Just the nature of some guys. I would not lower you prices. that invites to many creepy cheap weird fuckers. Maybe you should keep your prices the same but make your ads and webpage if you have them more attune to something luxury and upscale. this way the guys well off will think you are givving them your amazing services at a steal.

And just to note. there are r/t joints downtown that will get you spending 2 bills for mediocre service and mechanical endings. so the business is out there. you just have to market for it.

You should consider bringing back your $75 super-quickie 10 minute HJ-only option, maybe change it to $80 for 15 min. and see what happens.

You're a fabulous masseuse, but it sounds like guys are indicating they don't always have the time/money to invest in a half. Some guys just want the ending.

This is a perfect price, but I suspect some guys are calculating that a tip must be in addition to this price so they might think 120 plus 40 or 60 for happy ending gets me to 160 for the 1/2.

I personally would want a full 1/2 hour massage and 15 minute ending at the least. A good massage is really wonderful and hard to find. 45mins sounds like the perfect amount of time for a guy looking to cut it down. A lot of guys are thinking about Chinatown prices where they pay 50 for the 1/2 plus tip which gets them to a benji but most of those ladies could be their grandmothers.

120 for hh is perfect price. You should really advertise a 45 min session for 150 or thereabout. IMO, not many will opt for the hour session since they don't really need one full hour of massage; they care more about the ending. Paying 180 for just an ending might be a bit high.

Im surprised at how many guys are so active up here with girls who charge similar prices to me and really dont do what I do (meaning dont give a massage) but ask me to lower the price for them.
