So after having to work on someone at school who had a terrible nasty cold, I upped my intake of Vit C and Pomegrante green tea. I was sure I wouldnt get sick.
Suspiciously sneezing over and over the last few days, I blame it on the weather and allergies.
The bills are piling up and panick is my constant companion.
The brat was told yesterday she could start school today and I am thrilled Ill be able to work.
Last night at class I try to shake off the achiness in my body and blame it on the gym. When someone offers me white chocolate peanut butter cheesecake and a sandwhich and I turn it down... I realize something is wrong.
I eat like a horse... you can make me fall in love through my stomach... I never turn food down.
Maybe this feeling I have is just because the guy I recently dumped for GOOD after 2 years, just came out as a top bachelor in G magazine.
Nah... I know why I couldnt live with him and other girls will do the same once they see how difficult he is....so its not that.
Maybe its my fear over impending bills? Worry over my son in Panama?
No... I just dont feel good.
I come home and cook for my brat without really wanting to...which is also unusual.
Sleep evades me but thats nothing new and all night long my brat clings to me. "Mama, Im scared about school tomorrow, I dont wanna go...nobody is going to like me". She wakes me every hour to say this as our bodies cling together damp and sweaty. Rolling over I spoon her and pull her to me so she can feel the reassurance.
"You are young, beautiful, intelligent and full of fashion...whats not to love?"
Inhaleing the fresh pantene scent of her glossy black hair I feel peace and fall asleep.
Waking up though is another matter. Fever that comes and goes and a throat so damn sore I cant even swallow and gag instead. *Ugh*
Throat infection. The brat is pale and crying because she is sure everyone will hate her. I had 3 appts scheduled today and know I cant rightly do it anyways because its inappropriate to expose my guys to a nasty cold.
So I trudge through the cold dampness to school with the crying brat and hope that by monday Ill be fine to work.
Sorry to let you guys who were counting on me today down.

Glad to hear that you're sticking with school. Better to get through these tough times than to try to restart later down the road. When I went back after 10 years to get another degree in an entirely different field, it was indeed a tough adjustment and challenge.

Looking forward to when you do return. You are so good at preparing those tacos to my liking.

So today is 2 weeks since I have worked and Im panicking.
Daughter cant start school until I have all vaccination records and her pediatrician in Panama isnt working until this friday... so cant really work until Monday. Maybe a couple of appointments on Thursday and Friday too.
Anyhow wanted to tell you guys I am thinking of you all.
It hasnt been easy... I will have another studio in my building on January 1st they tell me, IF I pay 3 months up front NOW lol. Hard to do when you arent working... its a catch 22. Cant work with my daughter in here so I cant make the money for new apartment so I CAN work... haha. Life is always hard but Ill find a way.
Thanks for all the support from everyone.. Im not going to quit school...cant even believe I considered it.
Just bear with me pleaseeeeeeee for a little longer until I can work again.
God I need to get laid, *ugh*.
I got used to being touched and now havent been touched in 2 weeks, geez!

You need something more stable, something with a longer shelf life then this shit... Trying to get back to work has proven to be terribly difficult since the kid is here 24/7 lol, (which is what I wanted of course).
I havent read pm's yet because everytime I try to sneak a peek she makes a movement and I close it!

Next week I should be back in the game... Im missing everyone terribly.

Think about it, Jodi. I know you're terrific, but how long can you stay in this business? You need something with a future, and that pretty much means degrees, licenses, or a trade. This day and age we don't have much choice. I got my advanced degrees in my 40s and 50s (while raising three kids and holding down 2 jobs), and those qualifications are the only reason I am managing now (still in my 50s!). It's never easy, but you just have to do what you have to do. If you get the right mind-set it really isn't that big of a deal. Every school is kind of messed up - no way around that. I have to think you can make pretty good money now, and school probably gets in the way of that. But how long will it continue, or will you want it to continue?

there is not enough that can be said about your abilities. your hands work magic and i really do dream of them often. beyond that as a healer you are amazing, and within all professions these days there is not enough people like you. so you cannot quit and you must get yourself to that place where you know you did it, not for anyone else, but yourself and you get rewarded for your hardwork and put that degree to work you some more money, which is the reality, but i know that you will be doing your work with love. you are strong and you can do this.

Hey Jodi, medical courses are hard because there is nothing more precious than our health. The teachers are mean because they tend to be full of themselves. I also was shocked to find the medical education field full of nasty, mean, condescending people. Maybe the system is set up to make us stronger if we have the determination to continue. Don't quit, this is the real test. And if you need some help with the material, don't be afraid to ask your instructors for help or advice. They may be nicer in private. Perhaps getting into a study group to go over key concepts may be helpful. I'm not sure if we are in the same field of medicine/allied health but I would be happy to spend some time to help. There have been times when I had a difficult time with material and a classmate would selflessly spend the time to explain things. The world is a better place when we all help each other. Stay strong, you will be surprised and proud of what you can endure and accomplish.(shoot, where is the spell check button?!)

Do not quit school, do not give in, do not give those shyteheads the satisfaction of making you leave. Use whatever in your means to push on...a big hug from your daughter or as suggested by someone we both know, a cookie. You'll get past this and one day you'll reflect about this moment and realize you gave yourself and your daughter the greatest lesson of strength and fortitude. From reading your earlier posts, I would diagnose you with severe cardiomegaly (a big heart...my contrib to your medical class). It would be tragic to see it filled with dissapointment and regret, if you were to quit something we all know you can excel at. Your to pretty to be in misery's company.

its easy to feel overwhelmed at times and the option to quit sounds like it will remove so much stress from your life that it becomes a possible answer - but its not.

dont give up on what you have started. things are tough, but tough because they're worth it. you started going to school for a reason, and you continue to go to class and deal with all the hardship because you know its worth it. from reading your posts and getting an idea of the person you are - i dont think quitting school would make you happy for very long.

short term things might get easier, you would feel relieved - to a point. but i think you would be infinitely more happy sticking it out through the rough times and finishing what you've started. i know this might be a weird place to find support...but you've certainly got it.

keep your chin up beautiful. when things get to you, let us know and we'll do what we can to help. stay strong and you'll get through this...everything is going to be ok. you'll see....

Don't quit school. I did my masters at NYU while working full time, commuting 2 hours into and out of NYC every day, dad was dieing from cancer, made time to visit him several nights a week after work at Westchester Med., got home at 2:00am, up the next day, back on the train, worked all day then went to school, over and over. Had a baby at home also...

You can do it, just put the blinders on and do it.

BTW... Im on the very very edge of quitting school. I feel like just throwing in the towel.
Problems there, its so hard, the medical type classes are killers, the people in charge, REAL ASSHOLES...and daughter living with me in this tiny apartment... I feel like I cant hack it.
SOmeone, anyone, please tell me I will get through this. Tell me it gets easier.
THe kids sitting beside me now on her own computer chatting away while im secretly writing up here. Its scary and exhilerating at the same time.
