Pence didn’t want to leave the Capitol. Pence called the House and Senate leaders to see if they were ok. They told him the National Guard was moving too slow. Pence called the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Army Secretary about the National Gaurd status and was told they were moving as fast as they can and tell that to the other leaders [presumably Pelosi, Schumer, etc.] as they were calling [no mention of Trump calling in any of this conversation]. He then goes on to say Pence was doing his Constitutional duty on Jan 6th and that for the months preceding Jan 6th Trump was getting bad advice even by those around him that should have known better [he was most likely referring to Trump’s Chief of Staff and the BS idea of a stolen election].
