I don't even know what to say about this thread..
I initially started 'working' in this business to pay my way through school, now i do it part time to pay off my student loans.
Hard to call it work.. nonetheless..

I can give you this example - when I worked in mtl.. I would work 9 hours and sometimes there would be NO clients.. so I just sat or slept or a combination. To be honest, days like that were depressing.. nothing to do.. BORING. I could have been doing other things with my time..
During the winter there.. this was a REGULAR occasion.
Meanwhile, the night girls on the weekends could make up to a grand!

What a girl makes depends on a LOT of factors, namely how busy the spa is and how popular the girl is. You can't make money if no one is coming for a massage.

You have to remember one thing.. that not EVERY client takes a full option and NOT EVERY client is nice and respectful and fun.
Personally, I'd rather not have to spend 30 min with a guy who pays $60 and treats me like shit and I feel bad afterwards.

There is good and bad to everything I wouldn't over analyze a business of making a guy cum though. Like others have said.. you can't do this forever! (at least I would hope most girls don't)

I think the problem with some of these girls in the business is "easy come, easy go". They make good money but then they spend it fast. When they retire then they have little to their name. Mind you, you can do this job for 20yrs or until you get sick of it.

I agree, none of our business. They should make good money because it can't be an easy job. They work on commission, and deal with their fair share of assholes, stinky clients, and rude people who ask "How much money do YOU make doing this?"

So let's see what grade school arithmetic shows us: Divide $1000 by hours in a shift to get income/hour. If only we knew how long a shift was. How about 12 hours from noon to midnite, say. So income/hour=$83.33 "sometimes more". Which means she's churning thru the guys—smelly or not—at better than one BS every hour. Shorter shift, of course means she must make even higher/hour average. (F'rinstance a six hour shift would mean she'd have to average better than two BodySlides an hour, to make that number.)

If she lucks out and gets a mere Nude Reverse, or Basic, she'll have to give up some of her between-sessions showertime to make up. (Which she must already be doing, now and then, or she's getting tips to account for the over-$80 average) Since she does have clean-up duties, bathroom breaks, meals she can't/won't duck, working at anything less than top rate all the time will drop her average.

But my biggest doubt is the physical toll that "$1k in a shift, sometimes more" sets up: She's basically never stops, has as many as twelve showers, in and out of her clothes, on and of the tables, making conversation, and let us never forget, massaging—which can be very hard work—never mind being sexy—which can be even harder. She'd be exhausted and no fun at all well before her lunch non-break. It's no wonder the places where a girl might reasonably expect a steady stream of big spenders actually schedule 12 hour shifts. They want dewy babes, not haggard wrecks.

I have a bare bare bones sick benefit package at work. Heaven forbid that you might get sick.

I have no pension plan to speak of (in a world wide NYSE traded company of 40,000 plus employees - too expensive it seems.)

I pay into CPP (so can any MPA as a matter of fact, you just have to call them up - but unfortunately, they are going to want to know empolyment details - like how much you earn - there goes that tax free money.)

Yes, I get paid for stat days - but, that's the law. I would imagine that MPs skirt that law by making the girls sign something that says that basically they (the girls) are independent contractors.

So, in the grand scheme of things, about 40 some odd percent of my income goes to taxes, in return, I get paid for stat days, half of which I end up working to just get caught up anyway.

Sad but true.

Pension plan - one dancer i spoke with said she makes around 250k. Cash. If someone was making 250k cash for 5-6 years, I figure they wouldn't need a pension plan.

But this is Canada, they'd probably qualify for assisted living.

Most MP's at high mileage places make between $500-$1000 per shift. I'd say that's pretty damned good money despite the "hazards" of the job.

There are many worse jobs for less.

The value of benefits (ie paid vacation, holidays, pension, health, etc) is worth an average of 30% of an employees salary.

The average employee pays 20-30% of the salary in taxes. Also, no-one in Canada will pay 30k taxes on 90k, nor will anyone pay 100k taxes on 250k.

The point I wanted to make above was that in looking at an MPA's cash income, it is more accurate to compare it to a non-taxable salary of 75% of the cash income. Or to a taxable salary of 100% of the cash income (ie the taxes saved are offset by the absence of the benefits)

I'm just trying to help to clarify the value of things that most people don't have experience in quanifying (ie the value of paid time off/benefits/etc)

Sorry if this explanation seems too pendantic. Just trying to add a little clarity.

It's funny how some massageplanet.net members (poonhunter) think by analyzing someone's comments that they are now a psychologist. First of all poonhunter, I was just making an observation that I'm sure a lot of us just assumed. This MP I went to was not high end and the Asian lady was in her early 40's and not that attractive. However, when we left together, I noticed that she was driving a very nice family car. I use to think at these low end MP's that these girls were poor however, It looks like she does just fine, that's all. By the way poonhunter anyone who spends around $300 a month on this hobby can't be making minimal wage unless you know from experience...

This topic comes up a lot; it's ripe for assumptions, prejudices, envy and wishful thinking. Figuring out what someone else makes, or what a business makes is tough in the best of circumstances, but it's really hard when the business in only dubiously legal, the transactions are largely cash and most of them happen behind closed doors. When the 'researcher' hasn't clearly defined the question (MP=Massage Parlour, MPA=Massage Parlour Attendant) the effort quickly bogs down as everyone with an opinion offers it, disputing people who aren't even discussing the same topic.

Are we talking gross of the business, or of a worker?
How many days per year?
What expenses?
What downtime daily? Number of available customers, how many per girl?
Time spent between active sessions cleaning up, laundry, showering etc.?
How many on shift? For how long?
What's the acceptance rate for each of the available options?

The list could go on, and should if anyone's really interested in the topic. But nattering away about how easy other peoples' access to income might be is much more fun.

Having dated 2 former "A-list" MPAs after they retired, I can tell you 3 facts:

1.) Not every MPA makes the same money, as looks-reputation-attitude will determine how busy a shift can be.

2.) An "A-List" MPA can make between $60K - $150K a year, at a top end MP like HFH, Allure, SRM

3.) The hardest thing about "retiring" for a MPA isn't the money (which is really tough), but the emotional shit like having their family find out or running into a former client in their "new" life with family and friends.

There is no question that a MPA's job is no picnic, so these ladies must have no other choices. Sad.

However, no offense friend, but you don't know what you're talking about.

Here's a handy little tool that shows if you make 90k in Ontario Gross, you take home 64k. (Pretty close to my "top of my head" number of a take home of 60k). (Quebec, I'm almost right on.)

But you don't have to believe me - but believe Big Ernie....(just put in $90,000 in the little box there)

Now let's repeat the excercise for 250k of income.....ooops, look at that - if you make 250k in Ontario, you take home 152k after taxes. Most places, you net less than 150 on 250 of income.

Now, I know if you want to get all "pendantic" [sic] I did say that if you made 250 a year gross, you'd net 150, but given that that was off the top of my head, I'd say I was pretty damn close.

Also, the figure of 30% "bennefits" to which you refer is known as "payroll burden" and is the average cost of:

Vacation Time
Statuatory Holidays
Education
Pension
Training
Welfare
Ohip
CPP
Employer UI
equipment

etc. etc. all rolled into one and averaged out. 30% is the average number used by most companies in calculating their Payroll Burden, however, the real number varies and in the case of the company I work for is more like 24%, though we tell clients 30% so we can bill them more.

get an average of 60-80$ per customer including tip..
get a customer at least once an hour

they work 8-9 hour shifts and 5 days a week

so thats at LEAST 160K!!!!!!
