Let's not generalize here. I lived in China for over a year, and while some will, not everyone does.

It is a huge money maker for Chinese ex-pats to ship baby formula back to China. Chinese people living in Britain, Australia, Canada, the U.S. etc. makes money sending baby formula to mothers who live in China. The Chinese mothers can't get untainted milk in China because there are so many foreign substances that are mixed in with the formula.

When my wife was growing up in Shanghai, she had to sift through every batch of rice she bought to make sure there were no rocks or other foreign material that manufacturers or resellers would add to the rice to increase its weight and increase its selling price/reduce its cost.

I don't think Chinese business people have ever been taught the concept of quality control or business ethics. That's why Chinese residents, living in China, do anything they can to get their hands on foreign products. They don't buy Chinese made unless they have to.
