Hello Joan,I mix my oils at a 2-3% blend for my dog as she has quite a good sense of smell, that's what you get with working dogs like Jack Russels (as well as a lot of cheek!). In a spray that's 30 drops to 8ounces of water/cider vinegar.I use Lavender, Chamomile, Geranium & Rosemary, sometimes as a compress. I have also used tea-tree and eucalyptus combed through her fur when I haven't been able to get to the vets for Frontline for a day or so. There is some fuss about animals licking the oils on their coat, but EO are much safer and less toxic than most of the flea shampoos etc that people use! As long as the concentration is the same as a small child and you aren't using cinnamon, mustard etc etc (i.e. stick to safe oils) then there is no problem. There is a book called Vetinary Aromatherpy, can't remember who by, although I have heard that the author is all for high dosages (I think she's French, where dosages used do tend to be higher than considered acceptable elsewhere),something I wouldn't personally risk on my pets or clients (although I will on myself!).Much love,Martin
