Couple of observations.

1.Promoters should not get into a shouting match with customers. A lose lose situation. This is especially true of promoters like KJ and Jimmy. They love the ban option.

2. Girls talk (gossip). Many of their conversation gets lost in the translation. English not being their first language. If you can speak Mandarin or Cantonese you will know the difference.

3. Many here feel very entitled. Be real. You are but 1 customer among many. Larger Spas like SL West and Golden Wellness do very well moneywise for the owners. Smaller ones - those with 2 girls on duty not so much, but the girls do well.

Also, @Sundance69 - I know you hobby a lot in the west. I know you like to get close to the girls and owners. You offer them positive reviews. I do not think you get paid to write these - hence not a promoter YET. However, if they offend you in some way, - say like Golden Wellness you might offer less glowing reviews eg. Hinting that the spa and the girls only like the 30 minutes In and Out. No massage just Fun. That is a disservice to the Spa.

Re: smaller spas.. I was talking to multiple MPAs about roster sizes and, at least the ones I talked to, say it’s easier to make money at the smaller places. One girl says that working at QQ, if she didn’t bring her own customers, it’s hard to make much money from walk ins because there’s so many girls. So you basically have to up the service level and hope that they come back or whatever to get more guys to come and ask for you. Another girl mentioned that going to a small 2-3 girl semi operation, they can see 8-9 customers a day with decent tips versus a busy spa with a half dozen or more girls and only getting 5-6 customers in a day.

It's difficult to say...pro's and con's. There's not that many 'small' spas where girls are consistently getting 8-9 customers per day (most are much slower than that). If they were always getting that many customers, the boss would add a girl because the chances of losing customers would be too high...most owners HATE losing customers because there aren't enough girls working.

Of course, personally I like it when the girls are all busy and making money. I don't like it when the owners add a girl unnecessarily. But of course I understand where they are coming from. They make money on the doors fees so every lost customer (because all the girls were busy) is a personal hit to them, not only the money but the potential lost customer to a competitor too.

Regarding your second point, that varies a lot per girl. Some of the popular girls have very high demands vs. some of the less popular girls. These days, I think 'most' girls would be happy with over $500 per day. At some well known spas with less mileage, girls would need to do 8-9 customers to make that whereas at other spas they can make that with 4+ customers. I know some girls that have left busier spas to work at smaller spas that are less stress, less work and generally a more relaxed atmosphere. Conversely, I know some girls that hate sitting around doing nothing so they went to the busier spas and worked much harder for the same money. At the end of the day, everyone's different...

2 girls spa - on average a busy day is 15. 7/8 per girl. Girl makes good money. Owners who DO NOT WORK the room - after overheads do not make money. They have to work the room to maintain the income they are used too.

On average a spa willl need 7 bookings per day at the minmum to cover overheads.

7 per day.. assuming just 30 min sessions that’s.. what? $20 that the owner gets or $140/day overhead? If we say $150/day, that’s perhaps $4500/month overhead. Seems reasonable.

The owner almost always gets at least $30 of the room fee, regardless of the session duration. Some owners are getting even more these days...probably justified too.

His math is likely assuming 7 x $30 per day which seems about right although depending on the location, some small spas have much less monthly expenses to deal with.

If the owner of a small spa works the room, the spa can make money with even less than 7 bookings per day...they won't be getting rich but they will be in the black.

Hmm when I was in the resto biz, at a decent strip mall in Markham, our rent was about $6k/month for 2200 sq ft, plus basement. The lease was signed on Oct 2018. Yearly increases were such that at the end of the 5 year term it was about $6600/month.

Hydro, gas etc added about $1000/month. So I guess depending on the strip mall and the lease, and hopefully less footprint and overhead cost, $200/day would definitely cover the total overhead.

Yeah. I was just using it as illustrative examples for high side estimates. So $150-$200/day would totally be possible to keep them afloat.

$200/day would keep most small spas afloat but of course they won't be happy with that...

But that's why you even see some 1 person spas staying open...assuming it's the owner working, she can make $200 per day with even 2-3 customers
