lol, there is no moral equivalence, you got that right. What Israel is doing is a million times worse. This conflict didn't start with fucking Hamas, and it won't end with the demise of Hamas. It's a fucking ethnic cleansing, land stealing, occupation, and a systematic effort to remove people from the lands. Hamas might be launching indiscriminate rockets, but these are fucking pieces of garbage full of gunpowder with no advanced guidance system or anything. Most of these rockets land in empty fields and kill no one. Thanks to the Iron Dome, their efficacy is reduced down to almost nothing. Israel on the other hand is dropping weapons grade bombs with guidance systems and huge explosive power. They actually CAN control where to bomb and what do they do? They bomb infrastructure needed by civilians. They bomb residential buildings needed by civilians. They bomb children, schools, water treatment plants, it doesn't matter. This is punitive damage Israel is causing in order to punish Gaza. They're not going after Hamas. If they were, they wouldn't be giving warnings that they're going to destroy an entire building. Let it sink in, Israel kills NO combatants when they do this. NONE. It's purely an attack on the CIVLIAN population. Neither side can claim their have some moral superiority when Israel routinely kills 10-20x more civilians than Palestinians do. Oh and thanks to the siege on Gaza by Israel anything destroyed takes decades to rebuild. But fine, that's just Gaza. Palestinians get shot if they protest peacefully. Palestinians get shot if they resist with weapons. So if they're going to be bombed and shot, many of them choose to go down fighting.

Let's get back to the real issue here which is the occupation and expulsion of Palestinians from their homeland, a crime that has been going on for 70 years. How the fuck does Hamas launching rockets no negate the damage being done by Israel in the West Bank and Jerusalem? Literally people's homes are bulldozed, kids are regularly arrested, giant walls are put up to take the land away from people who own them. Right now this current conflict started cause Jews were forcefully taking over the homes of Palestinians in Jerusalem. Who's stopping that? Where's the justice there? Fences and checkpoints routinely cut off Palestinians from their cities, neighbours, and divide up communities. People often die cause ambulances can't get past checkpoints. Settlers shoot people and aren't charged cause they say they were threatened, or he had a rock, usually lies. If you record Israel's crimes you can be put in jail. Palestinians are cut off from other Palestinian communities and often can't even trade with each other. The West Bank has no proper government. They have no proper border. No proper army. This isn't a country, it's an occupation and everyone is forced to live under military rule and fear for their lives that they'll be shot for looking the wrong way at the Israeli guard or if a settler wants their home.

You're right there is no moral equivalence here. Israel is the only one who has any power or control in this situation. Palestinians are just resisting the occupying force as best as they can, but there's only so much they can do. Israel's claim is that they're defending themself, but keep in mind these are people who have taken the Palestinian's land and are "defending" the land and homes they've stolen. You cannot be the aggressor in this situation, the occupier, and yell out that you're the victim and you're the one defending yourself. You lose those rights the moment you take someone else's home.

Palestinians are not against Jews, there are Jewish Palestinians, Muslim Palestinians and Christian Palestinians. This time around it was Abbas’ Fatah party. Abbas cancelled the election because he thought Hamas was going to win. So he launches a round of violence. Hamas, not wanting to be one-upped by Fatah, decided to get involved by firing hundreds of rockets at Israel. Israel was forced to fire back.
