I was just wondering what your favorite "thing" in your massage room is.  Whether it's something unique or something simple....just curious to hear what you really like about your room (or even a room you've had a massage in before).

What is your favorite...

In school, one of the massage rooms (my favorite room) had a small light in it. It was like a Southwest style vase, flat on top and open, light in color, kind of a wash, and about 12 inches high. But what I loved about it was there was a hand cut out on one side and a heart on the other. Lined up it looked like the heart was in the middle of the hand. Our schools director made it and I wanted it so bad. But she wouldn't sell it to me.

What is your favorite...

I have a lightswitch in my massage room that when client's are ready for me to come in they switch it on and a light comes on in the backroom to let me know they are ready. It's very handy.

My favorite thing in the room is usually the client.  But, my favorite non-human thing is my new conch shell candle.  My room is done with a subtle seashell decor.  This new candle I got from http://www.ablazecandles.com is just incredible and I love it.  I love the feeling I get when everything is in place......an open client ready to receive, the calming music (my fav is rolling waves) and the warm glow of the candles.

What is your favorite...

I just bought a silver baby bell. It is shaped and sized like a tootsie pop with a round part on both ends. The sound it makes is just lovely, quiet and soothing. I bought it to end my massages. When the client is done and face up, I roll it between finger and thumb while sweeping it toward their face, then over and away. I tried it for the first time yesterday on my "guinea pig". He's a musician and really liked the acoustical touch!

Id have to say my plants. I have 2 (non-flowering) and I find myself drawn to them. Love having living things in my shop (other than clients  lol) and love em even more in the Tx room!

What is your favorite...

I would have to say my favorite parts are the peaco.ck blue walls and an intriguing ceiling treatment that sort of "tops off" the room.  I used cream wedding gown satin draped from the corners to the middle of the ceiling.  It is held in place by a somewhat ornate sconce.   Gives the clients some eye candy (and decorating ideas :) while they are supine.;D

I think my favorite thing is the eclectic mix... modern Nelson benches with Asian antiques, laquered and natural wood finishes, and stainless steel equipment.  It's very warm yet spare, very clinical yet restful.  I need to take some pictures!

In my massage room at home, I have clouds painted on walls. I found a picture I love  It looks like a cross between a medevial woman and an angel flying through the night sky holding tiny angel babies and some are holding the hem of her gown. It's called " Night and her train of stars."  I love it!

*smiles*  Wonderful thread.I have a small metal monkey which holds a tea light in his hands.  He is suspended (from the ceiling) about five feet in the air, by his tail on a piece of fishing line which wraps around real eucalyptus leaves, so it looks like he is in his own private "forest".He's very cute and makes me smile everyday.

What is your favorite...

I love a painting that a friend of my mom's did many years ago. It's a seascape in light to medium purple hughes. A light house overlooking a cliff with a small building, waves crashing on rocks and gulls...It looks sort of wintery. I love the shades of purple. It tends to center me in a nice tranquil place...Neat fact: The lady that painted it fell in love with the jewlery I was making a few years ago and bought several pieces for herself and her family shortly before she died last year. She asked to be buried wearing one of the necklaces. It's a nice connection for us.But, the living clients that I have in my space are nice too.  ;D

It may not be much, but I have a corner shelving unit that has (from bottom to top):bottom shelf: A waterfall fountain and an electric potpouri warmernext shelf: a cypriss bonsai tree with a cute little buddha, and 2 asian-styled green-glassed candle holders with wood corners (I cannot really describe it, I'll have to upload a pic)next shelf: another bonsai tree (not sure what kind of tree it is)top shelf: now there's a picture of me on a bamboo frame, but before it hosted water bamboo in a cute brown-and-tan vase with 3 little frogs on the bottom as feetI love lighting the candles and watching my clients just stare at the corner shelves. To me it's soothing anyway.  ;D

I love my cozy table.  I have a thick egg-crate on my table that doesn't get in my way while working.  With my soft blue weave blanket and fresh white sheets the table looks and feels irresistable.My second favorite thing is chamomile linen spray from Bed Bath & Beyond.  It's such a mild, comforting smell.Katykangaroo

Ah, for all the money in the world so I could travel to all these wonderful massage rooms...  I'm loving my cozy table, too (fleece layer, egg crate layer, heated table pad, soft flannel sheets). But my favorite piece of "eye candy" is the corner toward which the foot of my table is angled: I put a shoji screen (middle panel covers the corner and the 2 other panels are up against the walls) and behind it I have a little accent light pointing up that gives a nice, subtle glow to the room. Over the top of the screen I draped an East Indian-inspired sarong which is orange fading to red with a light gold pattern over it. (Thank God for Cost Plus World Market!). The room has high ceilings, and this helps to break up the walls, add light, and soften the angles.

my favorite thing in my office as a hole is a brass egyptian urn-type thing on a three-legged stand. i bought a pump and a bamboo spicket (not sure if that's the right word) and turned it into a fountain.

my favorite thing in my TREATMENT room is three lotus candleholders arranged in an arc. they're a purple-like color and hold tea lights. they COMPLETELY relax me and help lull me into the sessions. i love having an out of body experience when i'm working! it's great!

You know, I read this thread and thought really hard about it. I simply cannot pick one thing about my room that I like more than anything else. Well....okay....I DO love my glider recliner chair that is in my corner. I sit in it when I have down time and crochet or cross stitch or read up on muscles etc. Other than that, I LOVE my room!!! Everything is comforting and cosy and makes me as well as my clients feel very safe and relaxed. I love sitting in my room so I know the clients love it as well. Hmm...maybe I need to find a favorite thing :wink: .
