Who would you like to date?

Having met my wife while she worked as a dancer, I was very fortunate to end up with her. The first rule as a dancer and I am sure it is also with MPA is never date a customer. Somehow I never could figure out the reasoning behind that. The man has to be able to reconcile her job as just a job and she has to reconcile that he may have once thought of her a a piece of meat but has changed. The positive side of this is that there isn't any lies.
I can't tell you the shock that my folks were in when they found out but they too reconized my wife as a person and accepted her for who she is ( or maybe they were just glad to see me move out).

Who could you see having a relationship with?

I guess I've heard all the reasons not to date sex workers, but most relationships are full of drama and end badly. That doesn't lead me to swear off relationships altogether, so I don't find the stories of drama and bad endings for sex worker relationships particularly compelling as reasons to avoid sex workers. My own policy is to decide about each individual individually. And I guess there are sex workers that, based on what I know of them, I'd probably date if given the chance. It'd be kind of awkward to list them by name here, though.

I stumbled upon an old post about meeting someone outside the realm of the business. The search had nothing to do with that subject. I enjoyed reading the comments by Jennifer who said she would never date a customer and MPAsquared who didn't see a problem if she liked the guy.

Apart from the looks of a particular girl, and literally there are thousands to choose from, there also has to be a certain something that compells a man to have a favourite.

A forinstance for me would be Isabella@SRM, she is smart and witty. I believe she has a focus on what she is doing and I admire that. She would be for me someone that I could have a releationship with. There are others that I could never see having a relationship with and that forinstance would be Suzzane@AGS, again I think a sweet person but maybe too much for me to handle.

It isn't always about the massage, sometimes because we are all humans you are drawn to a particular person for some reason or other.

... I actually used to enjoy those type of threads - the psycho analysis type of posts that used to pop up on massageplanet.net a lot back in the day honestly probably helped me become comfortable and I guess a bit fascinated by my "job" I (I kinda learned a lot of what I know about men, the industry, yadayadayada from massageplanet.net...) There aren't a lot of threads like that anymore. I posted anonymously then though.... I don't think I wouldda been quite so open about certain things had the thread come up after I went indy lol

Its very open minded of you lotsaluck to be able to accept your wife's career choice but most of the gentlemen on this board would have a serious problem having a relationship with someone in the sex industry . Many of them might accept it at first but at times of trouble in the marriage it would be brought up and thrown in her face , whether intentionally or unintentionally when frustrated we all say and do things we don't mean to . Some people reguardless of what they do for a living are unable to have a healthy relationship because of our own weaknesses . I understand all points of view. My relationship with my wife is based on ( from my point of view ) that she understands me and accepts me. I was untamed and she tamed me, not that she controls me, rather she made me a better person. She also says "go out and find someone else you'll be back"... I think she says that because she knows that for me there is no one else. Her take on the ladies in the industry is that she isn't afraid of any of the girls because they are there to do a job... plain and simple. Mystique Misty you are correct the problem isn't really with the ladies, rather with the men who can't separate a short term job for a long term plan. I honestly can't see after the first couple of BS that guys go back cause it is a great BS... or is everyone that shallow.

I'm not sure I fully understand this thread. So you're saying you're married to a dancer but you can see yourself dating a MPA? Are you in an open relationship?
As for the concept of a stripper falling in love with a customer, I'm sure it happens. But you do have to wonder if you're the guy, what's stopping the stripper from falling out of love with you and falling in love with another customer. After all, she sees hundred of guys every day and they're given her $$$ and all their attention to her. Sure you're special but if she has no qualms about dating you, what's stopping her from dating a bunch of more guys. Or you're wondering whether it's just a scam to get more $$$ out of you (the "sugarbaby experience"). And yeah, it would be hard for me to be in a serious relationship with a sex worker because it's her job to provide a (sort of) sexual experience for other men. And I think that sex should be reserved for your SO. (Accordingly, I couldn't be in an open relationship.) So, yeah, it can happen but it's so much harder than a "normal" relationship since both you (customer) and her (the sex worker) bring a lot of emotional baggage with you.
BTW, OP, how would you feel if your SO was providing extras in the club? Is that something you would be ok with? In this current economic times, strippers and strip clubs are dying out to escorting and MPs -- and some strippers have broken some of their rules and given in to customer demanding extras (e.g. HJs, BJs, FS).

This is an interesting subject, so I'm just curious....How long have you been married for? And is she still working as a stripper or was she at any point when you were together?

Personally, I've never really understood how this type of relationship ever works long-term, so I think you're situation is definitely unique.

Freestuff, I guess I wouldn't say I was open to a relationship with a sex worker if I wasn't open to open relationships. I guess that's not the only model; some strippers or MPAs do some things with their customers but have a few things they save for their exclusive relationships (and there are even occasional SPs who won't kiss customers, saving that for their private lives), but somehow that seems weird to me. And the sex workers I personally tend to encounter are SPs who kiss and generally do everything, so I was thinking of a non-exclusive relationship. Sure to be complicated, but as I mentioned above I think you underestimate the complications and emotional baggage of "normal" relationships.

Probably true. "I don't date X people" (or "I'm not looking for a relationship now," for that matter) often means "I don't want to date you, and don't want to hurt your feelings or hear you go on and on trying to change my mind."

Rules are meant to be broken. If there's chemistry and it feels right, why not. I've met a lot of awesome ladies (great personality, not to mention extremely hot) in the massage biz, there's a couple of them I wouldn't hesitate dating. There's no point in profiling people based on what they do, especially a transient job like MPA.

Yeah but I think it gives the reader the wrong impression. Your chances of dating a MPA are slim to none.

Most people I know do not date people they originally met in a business situation. Don't know many people who go to the dentist, doctor, car salesman whatever and come home with a date. And let's face it in more mundane business situations asking someone out on a date is much less creepy and it still doesn't happen that often.

I'm not some sort of expert on MPAs but these threads tend to give false hope and a forum for dudes to brag about MPAs that they have "dated."

I get your point, but I'm often bothered by the people arguing the other side in these threads, as the arguments for why this sort of dating is a bad idea or impossible often seem to involve offensive stereotypes about sex workers. It's absolutely true that they've got lots of other guys trying to date them, though, so your odds are never going to be good.
