Personally, I think the board was a lot better before it was so widely known. Having dancers and SPs on the board, IMO, can have a chilling effect on what info is spread around. Seen many reviews lately? I know I don't post about certain ladies who I know read the boards.

I sorta think of it like this: imagine if Consumer Reports allowed the companies they were reviewing to post rebuttals and editorials in the pages of their publication. Yes, it can be good to get such info and allow for companies to defend themselves but, all the same, it still loses some of its objectivity. And the reviews get lost in the clutter of off-the-mark discussions (more on this later). And don't get me started on the not-so-subtle advertising...

e.g. if I know girl X reads the board, I'm not going to post details about girl X that I know can identify myself. Or I'm not going to make statements that might piss her off, even though they're true. Or I'm not going to reveal hidden gems out there b/c I know the girl will be able to narrow it down a whole lot to who is spreading the info.

I think massageplanet.net has evolved into an altogether different beast. It's no longer primarily a review board; it's more like a general meeting/conversation board with a slant towards adult entertainment in the GTA. That's why there are so many off-topic threads (even by me!). massageplanet.net has changed. I dunno if it's for better or for worse. IMO, it's worse for SC reviews but probably better for general chitchat. I guess it depends on what you value more. That being said, I think it's a natural evolution. There's just something honest and open about a simple little website where us perverts exchange info.

I was reading some posts from the strip club section on how some strippers have stopped going on the board because of personal attacks on them or just the negativity that is focused towards strippers in general and I've noticed a similar impression against MPA's and MP owners as well.
I know this is a forum where we should feel free to express how we feel, but I'm noticing that many MPA's really detest knowing one of the clients could be from massageplanet.net.
All of a sudden everyone's guard is up. I thought we went in to this hobby for good times. But if the attendant is secretly feeling paranoid wondering if she is going to be reviewed positively or negatively...well that just makes me sad. It certainly hits me that they and the spa owners are human beings, and not simply pleasure commodity.
What's worse is that LE certainly does use our posts against the spa owners, trying to convict them against any by-law infractions. You would think that more posts highlighting a spa's popularity would be a good thing, when in fact the owners start cringing because they think it'll just bring heat to them. There's a spa on the east end that is a favourite of mine, and LE is just hammering them right now because of the activity that is being relayed here.

Folks, what have we done to our board?

Obviously Rev didn't see my post about Goodtime cutting back his post. But I will dawn the superman suit for man of steel, the defender of injustice, ever so briefly. At least use the X-ray vision like Mingo's, certainly help preview of some fun.

VBB, I will keep it short and let others carry on the torch until Rev returns, perhaps KissingDevil as we seem share the same opinions or similiar state of mind as I was, not so long ago. I'm in a different headspace these days as I'm far from the MP scene.

I understand VBB's viewpoint and yes, we need the other spectum, differ from Rev and Goodtime, for 'wholesome' posts to help massageplanet.net guys not to get riped off. That was my biggest concern when I first start out, the cost and what to expect in the room. Will she be a waste of time?

However, I preach for a 'softer' medium. Post info without the explicit details when it comes to the 'extras'. Sure LE knows about the options, and targets place too blantant, pending on locala, residential, neighbor compliants, etc. that pressure them to act. Or on a slow week, go for the easy prey. Or mood of their supervisior.

In general, By-law guys are less harmful to MP/MPA unless accumlated many tickets. Its the Boys in uniform that haul people's ass off to the stations and they target the high mileage places for BJ/FS, may even bring their own condoms, who knows.

Given above factors change, I lobby for us not to be LE's tour guide. Hate nothing more to realize after the fact, it may be my post that tip'd off LE, to haul the girls or clients away.

KE, I don't see any problem with MPA/SP/dancer express their views. To get a fuller or 'complete' picture. It's up to the individual reader to formula their own opinion. If not, they are subjects of shills.

Poolie, I know you put a lot of time and thought into your reply so I will take some time to comment on your thoughts. As always, your opionions are well thought out and considered.

To be honest, I don't see any grey areas here. massageplanet.net takes on a role of responsibility as represented by the administrators and moderators. massageplanet.net is high profile in that it is well known, well travelled and accessible by all groups concerned whether that be MP owners, MP attendants, MP clients or the governing bodies (bylaw, LE, etc.). As such, guidlines for appropriate post content have been set. In this (my opinion) there is no need for interpretation. We know the bylaws for the various regions. Example, Mississauga and Brampton allow N, NR, BS and spas are allowed to advertise these activities freely. In this case reviews should be allowed to include description of such. Toronto and Vaughn and other areas do not, hence you see no such advertising. Therefore reporting of such activities should be disallowed. This is a logical guidline (read rule) that massageplanet.net should follow in review content acceptance. Whether a particular MP owner within any of the effected regions agree or not is irrellevent. Whether a particular MP attendant agrees or not is irrellevent. Also, whether a particular massageplanet.net reviewer agrees or not or wishes to 'push the limits' is irrellevent. Unfortunately the playing field is not level.

In regards to RS's perspective, I have no clue who she is or where she works but her outlook could be representative of her current conditions. If she is working in a jurisdiction where body slides are allowed then obviously she wouldn't be too worried about them being reported in reviews.

Yes LE/Bylaw know that such activities occur and some areas seem to be more tolerant but keep throwing infractions up in their face and it's almost guaranteed that action will result. One just has to look around and observe and they will notice that 'action' is occuring. massageplanet.net should not contribute to this further. massageplanet.net users who ignore this need to expand their thinking outside their normal bounds.

This is akin to telling your local police officer that your pal down the road is selling really good drugs. Sooner or later local police officer is going to investigate and shut down your pal. Sure, you may go elsewhere and get what you want (it's always out there in some form) but pal suffers in the meantime as a result of your foolishness.

Ask yourself; Is it really necessary to report illegal activities in my review? Can I get my point across without them?

The answers are no then yes.

Anyone who persists in breaking these "guidelines" in my view is 'me-centered', short sighted and foolish, and really has no concern for the repercussions on others. I find that disturbing.

Again, these are my opinions. I haven't read anything yet to sway my thoughts on this.

And in considering all these issues other thoughts come to mind. I'm curious about what drives someone to 'push the limits' in this regard. VBB, of course you are not the only one but I will ask you. You say that ego plays no part but why must you 'push the limits'? It certainly plays no part in your actual sessions. It is strictly a dynamic of the VBB online persona. So why? How do you benefit personally? Those that are like-minded certainly give you some degree of ego-boost or at least a pat on the back. It must give you some satisfaction when people choose you as one of their favourite reviewers.

To my way of thinking you are taking the easy way out in review preparation. It is very easy to do a straight up report of the actual events that took place. It doesn't require much thought so far as I can see. What is more challenging is to convey the same feeling without snitching on the girl you just had a wonderful session with. I personally find it difficult. Maybe that is why people such as yourself choose to 'push the limits'. It's easier and anonymity means there are no repercussions to bear. The repercussions are always on others. Why care. Is that it?

While I've no doubt that it's very difficult managing 15-20 girls all with their own personalities and "problems" sometimes management brings shit on themselves. For instance:

1.) Look at the thread RE: billboard advertisements.

Why don't they just add neon lights that say "rub n'tug offered here !"

Nobody on massageplanet.net told them to buy billboard space, and I think most of us are in agreement that it's a bad idea for the business in general.

I don't doubt that an owner has a right to generate revenue for their business, but they've got to understand it's not like selling "widgets" out in the open, where they can buy public advertising. Discretion is the better part of valor.

2.) Most MP websites are hopelessly out of date.

Ten years after the internet revolution some owners just don't "get it", to their detriment. Then they wonder why PROPERLY managed spas like SRM, HFH & IT do well...

Most of the MPA's I've spoken to RE: massageplanet.net don't seem to mind reviews, provided they aren't explicit and don't share too much personal info. The reality is that a review board is for, well... REVIEWS.... and I feel MPA's have to live with the bad as well as the good.

Any experienced client realizes that an MPA is another human trying to earn a living and the UPSide of a positive review equals more traffic and business.

If an MPA offers consistently bad service or has an attitude, is it massageplanet.net's fault that her income drops for "outing" her ??? Or should she take responsibility for her OWN actions in the first place ??? An MPA can't expect to go home with big money, while ripping us off at the same time. If she does, well, too bad.... with the internet, those days are GONE, and clients have a right to warn other guys....

We share information coz WE work hard too, and for some guys it ain't easy coming up with $150-$200 for 45 minutes of fun.

I find that most massageplanet.netites are very accomodating about preventing problems with any SCs or MPs.

If you have any suggestions about how to improve massageplanet.net or have a complaint about how something that was posted let us know specifically how we could help.

If your fav. MP is feeling the heat, post the name of the MP and I'm sure people will lay off the comments for a while.

If someone has posted a negative comment that has hurt someone's feelings, let us know.

massageplanet.net is not perfect and I get irrate about comments as well but overall I find that massageplanet.net is a very flexible and accomodating board that has everybody's best interest in mind.

Kudos to both Pool and Rev for stating their respective opinions so clearly, I am torn between which side to favor. I have maintained all along that every session is a case of YMMV, and therefore reviews are nothing more than guidelines on what "might" occur between a client and his provider. The client wants to maximize his enjoyment, and occasionally this includes activities that should not be reported publicly because (a) they are clearly YMMV and not likely to be given to every Goober, Fang and Rusty, and (b) they might be illegal in the specific municipality and get the establishment in trouble with LE.

The responsibility for posting an informative, imaginative and respectful review lies with the individual first and foremost, and with massageplanet.net moderators as a second line of defense for those instances where some asshat goes overboard with the "where can i get BBFS" stuff. You can convey all that is needed in a public forum without crossing lines of good taste and common sense, and you can share the "juicy details" via the various underground networks that all active members use (i.e. the Mens Room).

You raise some valid concerns kissingdevil and since you yourself have witnessed first hand the effect limited forthought can have on an mp I think it's wise to discuss these topics here.

In regards to your first point; I have a story to tell that demonstrates exactly your scenario. One night last summer I went to a very massageplanet.net conscious and massageplanet.net popular spa and I, as a massageplanet.net member am known by a few people there. I was seeing a girl that I hadn't met before but I knew a fair bit about. I won't mention her name for now but I will say that she is very popular with certain massageplanet.net members. I enjoyed her company immensly and all seemed to be going well. I can at times be somewhat quiet during sessions and this was one of those times. Not to an extreme extent as we did engage in some conversation throughout. Because of this she was unsure how to guage my impressions of her. After the session was over and we had dressed my attendant was sitting on the table looking really concerned. She called me over to sit and talk with her. She wanted to know if everything was okay and if I had enjoyed my time. I assured her I had. Apparently, someone at the spa had told her I was from massageplanet.net. Due to this she was really worried that I wasn't enjoying myself and I would write a negative review of her on the board. I assured her that all was okay and I wouldn't be writing a review. At this she was happy again and all was fine. I saw her again a short while later but not since. Our schedules just didn't match up well but I do plan to see her again soon.

I also know of some girls that just dread to see their names mentioned on massageplanet.net at all. Whether it be good review or bad, they would rather just go about their business, make their money and go on with their lives without being scrutinized to the nth degree publicly. And really, when you think of it seriously, who can blame them. I say that realising full well that I have done so and still do on occasion and others will disagree of course. They will say that this is a forum for free advertising and free speach and if they do their job well their is no harm done. That is not always the case for reasons that may not be apparent.

In regards to LE reading the board and applying pressure on MP's. Yes, I believe this to be fact and I believe that many members use little forethought when writing reviews. As I said earlier in one of the review threads, there is a reason why such things as BS's and NR's are not advertised freely in Toronto, Richmond Hill, Vaughn, etc. MP's. IMO, we should pay closer attention to this little fact and not mention such options unless the spa itself is in a district where these activities are permitted by bylaw. Sure it may be fun to come home and write explicit reviews telling all the details of what may have happened on our little adventures. It may even garner you a measured degree of pats on the back from the 'massageplanet.net brotherhood' but we are shooting ourselves in the foot.

And yes, we are doing damage and yes we have done damage. The moderators need to pay closer attention.

If you lobby for us not to be, then you might as well end this review board right now. For each review is a small tour. Now you say it may be your post, but you have yet to provide me the link. Do not think that one post was influential in the decision by LE to make a visit. It is highly unlikely and many times MPA draw unwanted attention to themselves.
