I don’t use my US cards in India. Disputing any charges would be difficult. Also, service fee is probably applicable.

And my India cards are with my parents. Registered number is also theirs (because I don’t keep India number active). So when I Monger in India with my India cards, they get alerts for every withdrawal I make. That keeps me in limit.

However, now I might consider using my US credit cards in bars - If I need to go beyond my set limit.

The moment you say payment by card these bar guys do nakhras like db girls .

Not really a FR:

I have been out at various DBs and OBs over the last week, but none of them were “new to me”, hence the lack of FRs.

I visited Cabana OB, StarNight DB and OB, Icon OB, Ramesh and Rasna over the last week.

Met a couple of very sweet girls at Ramesh. Spent the entire day with one of them when the bars were closed for Ganpati visarjan. Very nice chick - totally Girlfriend Experience.

Noticed a lot of new stock in Rasna. A majority of the girls I have spent time with between March - July are gone. My favorite is still there... meeting her Monday (today ) outside the bar.

She also told me stories of what happens in the dressing room in the back, described all the cat fights between girls over customers, drugs abuse, jealousy, girls going out with customers to make more money etc We started chatting on WhatsApp everyday. The transaction shows up as a “Purchase” on the CC statement. After all, these are technically “Bar and restaurants “. The name of the business also reflects the same in the CC statement. One good thing is that there is no cash advance fee or limit associated with cash advances. You don’t have to enter your PIN too, since CCs issued in the USA are chip cards.

Depending on your card, you might be charged a foreign transaction fee.

Like I had said, I’ve already tried it out. I wasn’t asked a question and I got my money back.

After all, if CC doesn’t try their best to win the money back to me, they are probably going to lose a customer. I’m a trustworthy customer as I’m using all my CC past 8 years. Therefore, CC would go hard on the merchant.

Merchant can use CCTV footage but they would need to remember it was me. And relying on ones memory to be able to dispute charges sounds like a bad idea to me.

The mobile phone will surely give out the location. However, the location is with the SIM card company. CC will have to make a case to know if I was near to that DB. But remember, here CC is not the one who’s trying to know if I was in DB. It’s the DB who wants to prove I was in DB. But I don’t see a way DB would know my number and would go to an extent to get my location.

CC company here is in my favor and is only waiting for proofs from merchant. It’s the merchant who needs to go and figure out it was indeed me, or else lose the money.

Also, our mobile phone connects to a cell tower. It’s always the nearest cell tower location that our phone reports as our location.

Our exact location can be known by performing cell tower triangulation. Read about it.
Now a days with modern phones with GPS chips, users exact location is calculated by combining GPS data and cell tower triangulation. It’s called as Assisted GPS.

Irrespective of how users exact location could be known, SIM card companies can’t maintain a log of users exact location as it’s a privacy violation. So they only maintain the cell tower to which a device is connected to. Nothing else. And I could be several KM away from a cell tower to which my phone is connected to.
