Chat Disappointing trend in service

Its been my experience that when an MPA you are seeing for the first time asks "how much you tip?", its usually because she's experienced a bunch of cheap asses beforehand and is tired of being burnt. So once you get past that first session and have demonstrated your fair tipping bonafides, the question won't be repeated and future experiences will be better, and your boner developed during the tease will not be lost upon the turnover.

But isn't that one of the benefits of being a "regular"? Knowing that some cheap fucks expect the world and then tip $10, how do you suggest a girl approach it? Just hope the guy is not a cheap fuck? Kind of unfair imo.
I know you tip well so I'm not pointing fingers just asking.
Personally if I'm new to a lady, I am not offended if they ask if I will tip them (almost never seems to happen anyways) nor if they put me in what I call "the psycho room" (room closest to the reception area).

I have worked at the front desks at a few spas and I have seen it all. Believe me, there are lots of cheap fucks who tipped way below the market quite often and sometimes no tips at all and told the girls they have no money after all the services were done. So sometimes I don't mind the girls asked the tips and asked the money up front before the fun. Our very sweet girl Cici (Michelle at Ellagance)quit JR on her first week after running into 2 guys who tipped her $10 and $20, She got so upset and quit the spa at 3 pm. There are quite a few guys I have black listed and told them no one is available when they came over as a walk in.
They took advantage of JR's no tip asking policy. Now JR has changed that wording to no inappropriate tip asking . You can read them now in their Complaints form on the door inside every room.

You are right. It is just sad that it is this way now because it didn’t used to be. I do feel for the women and the fact they have been burned. And it angers me that cheap dinks have made this situation so. That being said, knowing it’s a new girl, it still does kill the mood for me, even if I know it’s coming. I don’t think that will ever change. Being understanding of their situation and all, and them not knowing me and not willing to take that chance…. I get it.

I just can’t get it up after that.

Well if it's a possibility then why not nip it in the bud?
For example:
"I haven't had a session with you before and I want to be fair. I want ______. Is $______ fair to you?"
A little empathy pays big dividends and be a win/win/win. (3rd win is for your buddy )

You’re right. I guess for new attendant I could just put the tip down early. Let them dictate. But you know, I tend to stay in legit lane too, so they may think that’s odd. Sometimes the legit massage can get interesting, but it shouldn’t be assumed that it will. I think plunking down $$$ before it starts, or telling them your tip offering first, may give them the wrong impression that you want more when actually I don’t.

Part of the allure of the legit scene is that you may be surprised. Key word is may be. But if you go in there asking for something the first time - you’ll most likely be shown the door. It is a delicate game of cat and mouse it seems. That’s why if a legit girl asks for tips it is weird. Maybe she works at another place that is more liberal too and she is picking it up from there. Who knows. But I do know it’s a buzz kill.

It very rarely happens at the fully legit spas. This is definitely more of a semi-legit thing. This convo isn’t only about the tip situation though. The yelling, disorganization, rushing, basic lack of preparedness seems to be more widespread.

Another example…. I went to a place in Markham yesterday to check if someone was there working. I just dropped by because I had a tip. I stood in the lobby, alone, for probably 3-4 minutes. It was silent in there. It was also very unappealing and messy. I decided to give the door another open/close so the chime went. Then two ladies, significantly different than described came out all flustered, maybe just woke up, and I asked if there was a girl there on her first day. The response was “We are both new girls!” I said ok, I’m looking for (description). They said “no, but we are both NEW and come stay!” It was comical but I politely declined, wished them well and went kn my way. I have the feeling that they didn’t even know their own names in the spa. Anyway, would have been nice to talk to someone who knew what was going on there.

I'll add something about the lack of receptionist thing. At one semi-spa that I frequent, I book my appointments directly with the MPA, whose provided me with her cell #. One day I had made an appointment with her for early afternoon, however, when she was in the room doing a morning appointment, another attendant received a call asking for her, and she booked that person to see my attendant because my attendant had not passed my appointment info on to her colleagues.

So when my attendant realized she had been double booked, she texted me asking to re-schedule. My schedule was flexible so I re-booked for a bit later. She was grateful for me understanding her predicamant, and was good to me during our session. Anyway, having a receptionist would have prevented the double booking.

Uh, having a receptionist would have resulted in the same thing in this particular scenario. This has happened to me many times even when there is a receptionist. Unless your original MPA passes that message along, she would have gotten double-booked regardless. That's why the safest thing to do is to let both your MPA as well as the boss/receptionist know...

Some might say, isn't it enough to just let the boss/receptionist know. In most cases, yes. But unfortunately, they rarely ask for the name or number when you book so it's very easy for someone to show up before you and say they made the appointment. And yes, this has happened to me too. That's why if you also let your MPA know (as well as the boss/receptionist), you eliminate this from happening as well.

Totally agree with the OP. I’ve seen a drastic difference and I’ve only started hobbying three years ago. I think we as the consumers need to stop over-tipping for bad service. Setting a precedence that shitty service wont be tolerated or rewarded.

While I agree with you that over tipping isn’t beneficial as it drives expectation up, I don’t think it creates the same demon that no tipping or under tipping does. I think it is the cheapskates who are ruining it, not the flamboyant spenders

this has caused some girls to ask to much . i understand both ends .
i also only go to places that are very clean and the owner is hands on and cares about the customers. it all depends on what you want
