I don't know what's true, but it seems to me that it is not controversial to say that on this story, as on so many others, the establishment (i.e. the collection of mainstream media and large tech outlets) has bent over backwards to protect Biden. Whatever your political stripe, if you care about the importance of being informed, you should be upset at the following facts,

• Hunter Biden has never denied ownership of the laptop(s?) in question
• There is alleged material on the laptops which (if true), would pass any journalistic standard as to whether or not it should be worthy of investigation.
• Efforts to make this into an issue before the election were suppressed, on Twitter, on Facebook and the story was basically ignored by everyone else.

Like I said, I'm prepared to go either way on this. Maybe it was an attempt to misle gullible voters, maybe it wasn't. But I watched Leslie Stahl interview Trump and say to his face "there is nothing to investigate here" in relation to the laptop. Think about that for one second. How could a reporter, say that to a sitting President given just the three points I've listed here? If I'm wrong on that, please explain how. Like I said, my mind's open.
