SH Expo crackdown thread

Last week on 5 seperate occasions in 2 different hotels I either walked a girl in or had her follow 5 minutes later. Always after 11.
Never stopped or questioned in any occurance.

SH hotels:
Bund Riverside
(and some other dump i wouldn't recommend anyway).

Update on hotels... I stay at the Hilton, as always, and register my Filipino gf with me when I check in, so no problems. Came in on Monday night, and they have their regular security guys in place again, and the guy recognized us, just asked me for "our" room number.
Tuesday night, about 1:30 we were coming in the hotel... same guy was there, and I saw a western guy was at the desk with a Chinese girl, from what I can see he was signing her in.. (don't know what is involved.. but they were friendly to him). The security guard just smiled at us, and said have a good night... so apparently they will let you bring a girl up to the room after 11pm...

Well, I guess so. I haven't been back to the hotel that early yet. Just got back to Hotel from Zabata on Heng Shan Lu #5. It was packed of people. It was like a United Nation conference, people from everywhere.

As far as taking the girl to the room, I prefer to do the business outside of the hotel room any way. Lost a camera last time when I had a girl spent the night. So lessons learned and no more strangers in the room!

999 was still alive and well. Went there this afternoon. But something changed from previous reports--the session is only 70 minutes now and the 680 RMB special is extended until 8pm. Other than that, everything is pretty similar to what others have reported. I picked girl 905. She was wet beyond the wettest dreams. Never had a WG that much into it like she did. almost left a bite mark in my shoulder. I will post the details into the 999 thread.

Heading out to Nanjing tomorrow. Hopefully have more to report.

So if I understand the game - if you get the WG into your room prior to 11pm. it's ok?

This may work for me because I prefer to call the girls for something after dinner and will have the girl in my room around 8 or 9 pm and they can leave around 11 or 12ish.

This will totally suck for trying to meet girls at the bars and bringing them back.

Just checked in Ramada in Pudong this afternoon and was given a PASS CARD. Was told that I will need to show that in order to enter the room section of the hotel after 11pm. I guess this verifies what others were saying that hotels were cracking down on the people bringing WGs back to hotel.

Wanted to do something tonight but overslept and just woke up now.

Will check out 999 tomorrow afternoon before picking up a customer from Pudong airport in the evening. If anyone interested, maybe we can check out 999 together, or something later in the evening.

If we have to register the lady for a night, does it mean the name of the lay wil appear on the invoice of the hotel when we check out ?

Do you think this registration policy also apply to Serviced appartments ?

Golden 18 and 999 are the only two option I really care about on my next trip to Shanghai which will take place when the Expo officially opens.

I am wondering if anybody has been to either of these two places recently and is it business as usual? If not what has changed?

Hey Guys,

Was away for a while but back in the 'hai now. I noticed that the string of BBS places near my house (north up line 3 a ways and has been mentioned in previous threads) have all been closed.
This is prtty damn far from the expo so I was a bit surprised.

I'll look around the area because based on the volume of business (almost all locals) I can't imagine they've gone too far.

Went to Studio 16 last night. Lights were out and no one there.

Went to Shanghai Hotel 2/f closed for "repairs" for 3 days.

Expo only 16 days away. Hmmmmnnnnnn...

Set up your hotel room for 2 people and you should not have any trouble. I have never had trouble when visiting any city in Asia doing this.

Regardless of Expo, I would expect only the 5-stars to possibly enforce.

Easiest way to get around it is to take a girl home that doesn't have a skirt barely covering her ass!

See my posting above, regarding the sign from the police posted near the elevators at the Hilton:

It is in English and Chinese... basically saying new security procedures will be in effect during the Expo... It clearly states that visitors will not be allowed to the rooms after 11pm. If a visitor comes before 11-m, they must show a valid ID, or not allowed in. It also says if a visitor goes to the room before 11pm, they must come out by 11pm.

It states.. during the Expo... so you may be ok for now... but it starts next month..

I know the Hilton can be stricter than other hotels, but this will affect all major hotels... I talked with the exec floor manager about it, and he said it is a serious crackdown... I have a steady Filipino that spends alot of time with me when I am in town... he suggested I just register her in my room with me when I check in, and it will be no problem. I have a copy of her passport and have done that the last few stays there.

Is this after 11pm or at anytime?

Since I prefer the spas this will be a minor impact for me, but I did like to have one or two nights of "room service" on my trip. I was planning on bringing someone back from Manhattans and then trying my luck with a non-pro at one of the bars in town.

I hope this hotel crackdown is more fiction than fact. Its not like China has a large traffic of girls in the hotels like it is in Thailand and the Philippines (where some hotels charges a guest fee of anywhere from $10 to $30 USD when you bring a girl to the room to fuck).

I was talking to a good friend of mine who owns a bar and also knows the owner of Manhattans extremely well. He said he would be really surprised if she was part of this and thinks it more likely to be a one off where some locals are trying to make some quick cash.

On a seperate note, we were talking about the crackdown and how FL's were being stopped going into hotels with guys. He told me that all the hotels have been told in no uncertain terms that girls won't be tolerated in the hotel rooms. If they are found, not only will the girl be locked up and fined, so will the punter and also the hotel manager on duty at the time.

Something fishy is going on in Manhattan. I was talking to a Chinese girl on Friday, and when I cam back from the restroom, she had an argument with a Chinese guy in a black t-shirt. When the girl told me that she had to leave the club, I asked the guy what was going on. He told me "you don't understand, it is between the girls and me". Eventually the girl left Manhattan and wrote me per text-message that there are three guys who demand 400 kuai (each) from every girl, so 1200 in total.
I don't know if these guys were Policemen or Mafia. If these guys are Mafia, I would recommend Manhattan to invest some money in Bouncers (or a bigger Mafia guy ;-), otherwise the bar will be empty soon.

On Sunday I heard from a Filipina that it became too difficult to work in Manhattan and that most of her friends moved to Malones and "W Bar" in 2088Yan'an Xi Lu, near Yili Lu.
