Poor hornet still believes this is about war.

Seems like this war is also about power. Money and power and maybe revenge for the Russian since the fall of the Soviet Union.. I forgot to ask Hornet his opinion on if the Russians owned Ukraine, which other country would Russia try and capture next? It's going to be a long war...

While Putin would want to regain influence over Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania those are NATO countries so any invasion would become WWIII.

If Putin wins he’s just roll right over Moldova next as they are tiny with no real military.

And if Putin is able to capture a country like Moldova he will keep conquering and conquering. Something thankfully, Hitler wasn't able to do..Maybe Putin wants to be even more powerful and remembered than Stalin, Brezhnev, Gorbachev combined. I don't think he can do it..

Unless he goes after Bosnia or Serbia there is no non-NATO countries he could get at. Forget Austria as it is surrounded by NATO and you never want to attack a Mountain country anyway. Switzerland is neutral and where is money is as well as being Mountainous so that is off limits too

Many reasons. His first priority is to stay in Power. Democracy is taking hold in Ukraine. If Russians see that it could challenge his power. He didn’t want NATO to encroach on his borders and thought Ukraine might one day join NATO. That backfired already since Finland is now part of NATO and that is the biggest border yet. He’s always viewed Ukraine as Russian land and he wants it back. He views the whole of the Black Sea as his “lake”. If he captures more land such as around Odessa, he can cut-off access to world markets for the rest of Ukraine not seized. Ukraine is a huge exporter of wheat. It could also threaten sea aces for Romania and Bulgaria who are also NATO countries.
