So likely that Sat night 19th will be another bar closing with reopening Sunday 20th.

I don't have a cite, but isn't it the OrBorJor president in Phuket the one that keeps getting murdered? I remember reading a Phuket Gazette article about the OrBorJor guy who was replacing a guy that had been murdered/assasinated, who had replaced a guy that died under mysterious circumstances, who had replaced a murdered/assasinated president.

I remember thinking, who the heck is going to want THAT job?

This sucks!!! I was just there in December and the bars closed twice. Once for the Kings Birthday and once for elections. Now I am going back in April and it happens again. I guess I will have to stock up on Singha from the 7-11 and get trashed in the room. :

Booze bans for elections are bizarre for me - especially in a country that has a military coup every few years .
My 1st night in bangkok on March the 1st was a horrendous experience thanks to the booze ban . lol .

Yes, I wanted to try the Frog mating techniques of Bolivia last night but Dodgy, Oli and the Duncster took me to Chang and it all went a bit Pete Tong after that.

Did try a bit of 'Natterjack Toads of Great Britain' mating techniques at 0950 hours this morning and she was back in the beauty salon by 10.

Excellent news, so I can have another non-birthday this year and will celebrate it by asking the government of Thailand to shut all bars and stop serving alcohol anywhere.

This should ensure I get a least a couple of people to my party, normally no one turns up???? havn't figured out yet how the postman must be mucking up the invite deliveries!!!

Thank you K2 , im arriving approx sat afternoon and hearing the news
over there on my day of arrival would have been a hammer blow..

Was quite looking forward to a day of drinking , watching premiership football
in the bars , followed by a 1st night trip to Tai pan where im suddenly elavated
from average Joe to movie star! :mdr:

K2, with your experience, does this ban also mean that Mr & Mrs Pygmi can't sell booze at the circle? or is it only confineed to bars & clubs?

They dont "sell booze" Dori - they give it away free (not illegal) - we're just generous and give them a 50 B tip - I'm sure they'll sure the beer truck will be extra loaded up for Luis the Lip's Airport Rd r*n :whistle:
