(Yet) Another Election - Apr 20th (Bar Closing 19th)

1) Restaurants are still allowed to sell alcohol (so hotel bars get away with it).

2) Stock up your mini-bar at 7-11/Family Mart/Patong Whiskey etc.

3) Police 'owned' bars will still be open - easy to spot the ones playing loud music and serving alcohol!

Incorrect. Ban on alcoholsales is for all outlets, including bars, restaurants, shops, wholesalers and hotels.
That some (most) hotels serve is mainly because they 'come away with it'....

I had a Visa trip due next week so I have brought it forward.Since my bar is closed I am off to KL for two days and will be on the p1ss in the Hard Rock on Sat night.:dlb: :zzz:

Back Sunday evening to reopen Monday.

BTW, I'm gonna guess that the mom and pop Thai convenience stores (or at least some) will sell alcohol discreetly as there is no "record" of the sale.

Just back from the local 7-11, and all the alcohol was covered from sight with old newspapers.

I loved seeing these election posters all over the place. The candidate for party number 3 was incredible, some stern-faced scowling looking ball breaker.
