The parcel that is the potential home of the Wal-Mart is on the other side of the street of 1818 NY Ave, and the spa in question in the article is in a property of his on Conn Ave. I know the Schaeffer's own parcels on the south side of NY AVe from WV to Bladensburg Road, where Skylark Lounge is, but not sure they own 1818. An interesting and important article for this forum, but not sure if it is relevant in regards to whether 1818 is open.

I went to one of my old places this week. Since I hadn’t been there in a while, I asked mamasan for a line up, but she did not speak English. Next thing I know, Lisa comes in. Seems they now have three locations. If you check the NOVA Board you'll find that the Mclean Oriental Touch storefront does not provide anything more than basic massage. No extras whatsoever.

Well I thought that when I originally typed this it took but alas I found myself lacking a review. So I closed my eyes and dreamed of a Spa beneath a soaring Eagle.

I will start this off by saying I wish I found this site earlier. This forum has been great! I am happy to share my experiences from the AMP visits I've had during my short time here in DC.

1. Oasis Therapy. I went here on a Sunday evening and was greeted by an older (yet attractive) Korean lady. We had small talk and after disrobing, she pulled me to the TS. She did a great job with the TS, but asked me for permission to clean "Junior". Back in the room the massage was fantastic, walked on my back and everything. On the flip she did a halfhearted massage and then asked if I wanted anything else. Being a rookie, I just said "sure" and looked down at "Junior". I don't see how mamasan can shut that down, especially if you call ahead, ask for a certain provider and make an appointment. At the end of the day, this is a customer based business. If you the customer are happy seeing the same girl, then the place she frequents will keep getting your business. Constant business means money in mamasan's pocket...so i don't see them putting any restrictions on that kinda activity.

The only time i've ever seen the same provider twice was at DT; and that provider was Annie..who was well worth a repeat visit, due to me pre-maturely finishing the first time, due to her spectacular service..if you know what i mean!

I have no problem with being quoted and she is free to interpret it however she wants so long as the full context was understood. That sentence quoted by itself could be taken to mean that I don't tolerate women who are professionally driven, unconventional, gay, or even just liberal. That is not the case at all. I just don't want one of those women as my most trusted and intimate partner in life; what would we have in common?

I don't know anything about the writer, but let's assume that her writing is in defense of orientation or some kind of 'unconventional' lifestlye. She rightly doesn't want to be treated differently or marginalized. Why would my personal desire for a more conventional be any more wrong?

The other part of my post which may not have been clear is that in my experience, which is far from empirical, a lot of women in the DC area are just not very nice. I don't enjoy being berated or taken for granted.

The bottom line is that it seems that this writer is taking select quotes in order to create impressions that might be prejudicial which is not helped by the fact that they are solely sourced from this site. But she has limited space to post her articles, and after all she is free to have her forum as we do ours.

I just say live and let live. Responding with vitriol in our posts and comments to her will not be constructive. Disagree all you want, but show a little courtesy if you want your point to be considered.

Edit: So I went and found the article that was posted by Ms. Hess. First, she didn't name me by handle or attempt to 'out' me, so for that she has some credibility and sense of ethics as well as my thanks. However she asserts that I am looking for a foreign woman who is alienated from American culture. While that could be possible be inferred in reality it just isn't true, and the images that can conjure about are definitely inflammatory and prejudicial. I don't hate American women, and I don't need a submissive village girl. I don't know why this is so hard to understand. If you've ever been to Colombia it would be apparent; they can be the most cosmopolitan as well as loving and loyal women in a relationship but are also quite assertive and they certainly don't take any shit or abide any unfaithfulness in their men. They offer equal respect in kind. That is what I would like, not some kind of unliberated or uneducated girl from some remote village as she suggests.

From what little I have read though I think the writer seems to at least be reviewing as honestly and ethically in so much as her own beliefs will allow.
