honestly if they ever put out a decent burger and fish and chips like they said they were going to all will be forgiven on the first bite...without food its just another general run of the mill lala bar...but where you can't BF the gals

yep...a couple...there is one along there which I quite like....it is attached to a hotel with a pool at the front....can't remember the name but its on the RHS coming from Patong approximately in the middle..they have decent Thai and falang food but prices are getting up there a bit

young ladee who used to be cashier at Koi's works behind the bar so I have somone to chinwag with whilst I munch on a (ha sip har sip) burger

any recommendations??

You seem to forget why I removed referance to the name of that bar on another thread, because I decided, no I was not told as you so incorrectly posted, I decided it was wrong of me to divulge such information on a public forum.

However, you also have overlooked my question about which bar was unmentioned as that particular one was, looks like I was right about the inaccurate snipe, whatever, it seems to keep you happy.

You could mention the Kamala Aussie Pub. Did see you there a few times. How was the beer there during your motorbike pit stops? Ane besides, Pinot did mention the IFAWAS(Italian Food, American Wine Appreciation Society) last month to me at the Aussie Pub.
Good fish there. Have eaten seafood a number of times in LOS, and most times they butcher the cooking on it. The Dory is quite tasty there,

That was until i got verbally abused by the ugly sisters and never to go in again. I did quite enjoy a few beers on my way through but fcuk em now, i ain't been spoken to like that by some stuck up rice pickers.

Don't put this bar and food in the same sentence SW......they can't even make a decent fried rice FFS.......

Same Same this trip to Kamalalala last time, I sat at the next table to him at the Bakery and it wasn't until he asked me if my nose had recovered from the scuffle I had in Little Aussie Bar that I realised it was him! I had kind of avoiding the place, Little Aussie Bar....Not the Bakery!

He had aged, not looking after himself, bad skin.....Living the vampire life of bar, bed, bar, bed etc etc

I hope he can get a break from it all and get back on track a bit. Maybe the nose into the pavement is the wake up call he needed.....Painful one mind!

Just fail to comprehend the business model here. Everything else aside, is there any specific reason as to the non-BF policy?

I would assume that with this kind of investment there was a thought behind it. And if so, what type of clientele did they intend to attract? Just curious.

If I had friends over from the UK and they wanted me to recommend a bar to visit on their first night in Kamalalalala! Probably not this one.

Like I said before, a good coffee making machine serving a decent brew and a half way decent "Aussie-Styleee" breakfast served up until midday would have me interested.

Listening to "A land down-under" watching the girls mouthing what they think are the lyrics because it's been on a hundred times already just had me asking for my 'Check bin' and heading elsewhere.

As Dodger says there are around 66-ish bars in Kamalala and I am not trying to compare this bar with any of the other similar sized ones out of those bars but if I was going out for 5,6,10 or 15 beers that night I could find enough places to spend my money in where I would enjoy myself more.

I am sure it will improve, mature and become a good 'meeting pub' - By that I mean a place to tell someone to meet you during the day to discuss something. You can park there, not be pestered by the girls and if the music isn't on too loud actually have a conversation. Offshore bar was a kind of 'meeting pub' on Nanai etc, everyone knows where it is and it's central etc.

For my meetings I currently use 'Oh La La' it is open in the afternoon, has a decent cup of coffee, girls serving but no BF, a light meal or a sandwich and if I need to refer to my laptop for the meeting, free internet and a beer if I want one before sundown.

Anyway, if I don't get back in February, it will be six months or so before I see the place again, it might be the new 'central hub' of Kamalala by then.......and Pinot married with a kiddy on the way..........Cough! 55555

hearing that they now have a new guy in there (english?) that is like a manager, pr guy, trying to drum up business and encourage the local expats in there.

also that it may be up for sale, around the 100k AUD mark???

from all the previous talk about it, hard to imaging that sort of money changing hands.

from the lalaians, what's the trade like at them moment? any improvements on the food and service at all??

If your lady is Dar spelt with an "r" then she was working last night. Probably the oldest one in there but works hard and is very pleasant. If they binned her last night because of the reason you mentioned then that sucks big time. I'm pretty sure they will regret that decision.

They'd be better getting rid of the 2 stuck up cows that sit behind the till, they dont half fancy themselves and for what i really dont know....One's got a mouth full of metal and teeth like a graveyard and the others got a chin you could get pickles out of a jar with, but apparently "boss" related so say no more.

Oh yeah had some fried rice in there last night and it was wank, so if they cant make simple thai food then god help them.....

Food slightly improved, more choice. Guy is trying different approaches but such a poor low season its an uphill struggle. Think the english guy has already left.
